A Disappointing Experience – More About Profit Than Passion
First, I want to acknowledge that high-quality ingredients come at a cost. That said, I don’t believe the menu here is overpriced, and I do feel the staff is doing their best to serve guests properly. The setting is also beautiful, but…
We had a reservation at 7 PM, and upon arrival, we were informed that our table was only reserved until 9 PM. Not exactly the romantic evening we had in mind—two hours to drink and dine felt rushed. At that moment, it became clear that this place prioritizes turnover and profit over guest experience. The charm of the setting, the concept, and the initial excitement quickly faded. But little did we know, things were about to get worse.
The Food – A Complete Letdown
We started with the dim sum mix. Adding truffle to a dish doesn’t automatically make it gourmet. In my opinion, the truffle was completely wasted—an unfortunate mismatch rather than an enhancement. The meat dim sum was average at best, while the fish dim sum lacked the freshness you'd expect.
For the main course, my girlfriend had the vegetarian curry—decent but unremarkable. Then came the highlight of the evening: my crispy duck.
To the management, I strongly suggest taking your kitchen staff on a field trip to a duck farm. Ducks are a fantastic product to work with, and when cooked properly, they can be heavenly. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. Yes, the duck was crispy—but only because it was dry and overcooked. It was a disservice to the ingredient itself, and frankly, I felt sorry that a duck had to die for this dish. The garnish? A few dry strips of leek and cucumber thrown on the plate. With such simple elements, there was an opportunity to create something exceptional—but no effort was made.
The Final Straw
And then there was the dog. While I love animals and have pets myself, they do not belong in a restaurant. It was yet another detail that made this experience feel far from professional.
Final Verdict
This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I’ve had on the island. It’s a shame because the location, concept, and ideas have potential. But as it stands, this place is a tourist trap, a culinary disaster, and a complete mood killer.
To anyone considering dining here—DON’T. There are far better restaurants in the same price range that actually deliver quality and care about...

Besides the fact that the valet parking experience was hilarious once arriving on a very large unoccupied parking terrain, we were already strangely welcomed by the very unprofessionally acting receptionist, ordering us like cattle that we only received the time slot exactly between our 8.15 pm until 22.15 pm and no minute later.
The whole building with interior still deserves a compliment, but during the evening the rest appeared not of real quality. Being a connoisseur and also cooking ourselves according to the real royal Thai cuisine we had our eyes set on the soup and curry to compare with past references. The Tom Ka Kai was to sour with glad noodles added and little bids of chicken found (?). Further the duck curry wasn’t a real curry. It was crispy duck in coconut milk without any flavour, not with actual herbs boiled to get the real taste of the added curry paste freshly made..the boiling might have been done, but they must have forgotten to add any past..very dissatisfying. Eating coconut milk with a crispy duck..
The waiter was like the receptionist not close to professional. He told the food concept is all about sharing, which we happily confirmed to know from Thailand. That means everything on the table at the same time with lot of different dishes, together with the soup. Instead of that he released only half of our ordered dishes in the first and second round and therefore the experience as a whole was totally spoiled. Furthermore the waiter was a real bad advisor on the quantity aspect. How come, you imagine...All dishes are way to small and the rice was of course ordered extra, for which they let you pay 6 Euro extra..average pricing per person of 150 Euro to have a nice evening to be consumed within 2 hours..you might think twice for even going here to...
Read moreTo be honest, the place is very overrated.
As we already checked the menu we knew the prices were high but so were our expectations. In total it lacks on all aspects; They have an extensive wine menu with different price categories, nothing bad there. Water is really overpriced for €9 a bottle, especially if you consider the fact that tap water is not potable and thus bottled water is, in general, quite cheap. The food was fine but nothing spectacular. We paid €18 for 6 pieces a tuna maki, €19 for 2 small skewers of chicken sateh and €29 for Thai green curry. Especially the latter is a disappointment, there aren't many pieces of chicken nor vegatables in there, not much curry flavor at all and the sauce was quite wet. Not something one might expect for that price level. Next to that the staff was not that friendly nor helfull and quite fond of itself (at least our waiter was). The place has the vibe of an old, not well maintained, Asian building. It looked Indonesian but it felt cheap with plastic roofing (covered with bamboo). Most interesting thing to be honest is that everybody just loves it and doesn't mind spending lots of money on mediocre food and atmosphere and thus keeping places like this alive.
In Europe you can have so much better. You can eat and drink better, have better service and atmosphere, drink and eat way more and keep half the money spend here in your pocket. Our visit here was a big...
