RESTAURANT CAN CAUS — Restaurant in Santa Eulària des Riu

You breathe in Ibiza and get ripped off - I feel bad actually leaving a review because this used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Ibiza (even came for my birthday last year) but also feel the need to let others know of my current experience. We ordered 1.2kg of meat and as someone who consumes a lot of steak regularly I promise it was underweight, we were served 800g absolute maximum. The quality was okay and the best pieces naturally took a lot of work to get off the bone. The worst part for me was this, we ordered a plate of vegetables consisting of a piece of asparagus, a carrot, some aubergine, bits of pepper and a few other small bites.. this cost 16.80€.. I definitely should have checked the menu prior but I trust this restaurant so didn’t think too much about it and then the bill came, I was completely shocked how somewhere can charge so much for so little. The staff are ALWAYS so lovely, fast and friendly so they are not the issue at all but very disappointed that we spent 50€ a person to feel that hungry we went somewhere else for a second dinner. Won’t be going here anymore and it’s a shame a lovely place isn’t so lovely...

The atmosphere in the terrace is very nice. Although we arrived slightly late we had received a decent but quick service. I asked the waiter for recommendations and he told me for sure to get the costata di manzo. Although I was a bit unsure I trusted him. Well, unfortunately this was one of the worst I had. So much fat, super hard meat and pretty raw (asked medium). When I left most of it I said the truth to him and he nicely said that I could comunícate this but unfortunately the kitchen was already closed so no options at that time. Unfortunately this restaurant has gone badly downhill, nothing like it used to be with good food and good prices, my wife had lamb that was under cooked and I had steak that was poor quality meat, we have been coming since it opened but won’t be coming back. Staff are average, food average and prices way over, last year was expensive for a bit of bbq meat but this year it’s like paying for 5 star restaurant !
