I come here often—this place has become one of my absolute favorites, no matter the time of day. The menu changes between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I’ve had the pleasure of trying many dishes over time. Every visit is a fantastic experience. And it's always open. This time, we brought a friend who was visiting, and to play it safe, we came for breakfast. We ordered a fruit bowl and two tostadas—simply divine (especially that with jamon serrano, a must-try.) But to be honest, I’ve had plenty of other dishes here before, including octopus, pasta, and risotto, and every meal has been outstanding. One of the highlights? The homemade bread and the incredible selection of homemade desserts. I can confidently say they serve the best "tarta de queso" (a classic Canarian and Spanish dessert) on the island. And if you love apple crumble, don’t miss it—it’s exceptional. A special shoutout to Jessica, our waitress, who is an absolute delight—friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place, whether you’re hosting visitors, looking for a meal with a breathtaking seaside view, or even if you’re into windsurfing—since the beach in front is full of surfers. With both indoor and outdoor seating, this is truly one of Gran Canaria’s hidden gems. My Go-To Spot in Gran Canaria –...

3 stars. Disappointed. I came for lunch on a quiet day. Location is fantastic. That I give a 5 (note: the surrounding area is a bit industrial with construction ongoing and modern windmills). You catch watch skilled wind surfers here or just be mesmerized by the waves. Service was slow and inattentive. I had to flag down the waiter every single time and there was virtually nobody there. The only time he came without prompting was once I was done. I specifically asked for grilled fish and they gave it to me fried. It was nothing special. I asked for salt (for the fish - wha?!) and I was given basic table salt. Ironic considering one of the island's last functioning salinas is a few hundred meters down the dirt road (shame on you!). Salad garnish was a touch old but edible. Potatoes were good. Considering the price I paid, I'd say what you're really paying for is the view. I suggest coming for drinks and a tapa or two over a full-on meal. Reservations via whatsapp. Unlikely I will come back to eat. €32 for water + glass of...

We had not been for a while, in fact, last time we went it was still under the previous ownership. By God, how this has changed, and not for the better. Now it is all an attempt at glam, prices through the roof and the food is rubbish.

We ordered the Burgers with fries. The fries came in a little metal basket and the burgers on the side on a little stone tray. The price for one burger with these fries was €15.40!

The burgers were meant to be Angus beef, but if they were made from Angus beef then I must surely be from a different planet.

The chips were made from fresh potatoe (as they came in a little metal basket you could easily see that it was about one medium sized potatoe) and they were drenched in grease so much that it was running down the side of them.

To cut a long story short, if you are looking for place that prefers fake glam and prices of a 5 Star restaurant instead of delivering actual great tasting food than this is the place for you!

Never again, this new owner has...

Restaurant El Viento is worth a visit. When you arrive driving you first think: "where the hell do I come from?". The road to El Viento is barren and empty. Eventually you arrive at the sea and you immediately realize where the name of the restaurant comes from. (El Viento means wind in Spanish) It was extremely windy here compared to the rest of the island. Not surprising that we saw a lot of surfers in the sea who enjoyed the hard waves. Once inside we notice that it is also a surfers restaurant. It all looks very relaxed and friendly. As an appetizer we had the Burrata and the sandwiches. Very tasty and a good amount. As a main course I had the Entrecote (local meat) and my girlfriend had a Salmon. My piece of meat consisted of a lot of fat. I personally don't like that but the whole dish and setting were just okay. The price was on the high side compared to other restaurants we have been to. All in all a fun and pleasant experience.

Good food but ruined by a waitress with an attitude who was the opposite of friendly and open. The moment we sat down, she started taking our order despite there being no physical menus, just QR codes. She stood there impatiently saying nothing, not even giving us a minute to scan the QR code. Afterwards, she slammed the cutlery and glasses on our table — we felt quite unwelcome as tourists as she also insisted on talking in Spanish back to us. Also, the coffee was disgusting (I couldn’t drink it due to its extreme bitterness) and the toilet is worse than in a public bathroom, soap diluted with water, water barely running, the hand dryer not working. Good chef, but terrible wait staff. Avoid unless you only care about the food (not coffee, though) — and the atmosphere and friendliness mean nothing to you. This was our second time here (first time in May this year) and we definitely won’t be visiting again.
