What an absolutely stunning property! We were greeted by Juan Carlos at the hotel's reception desk, who was very friendly and courteous. Though we were not staying at the hotel, we did have dinner reservations on site. Juan Carlos went above and beyond by giving us a brief tour of the building on our way to being seated at the vinoteca. He is exactly the kind of person any business would want to have as the first point of contact with their guests and customers. This experience is what motivated me to write this review (and I genuinely hope someone within Abadia Retuerta's management team reads this and passes on our appreciation).
The food, too, was brilliantly prepared, striking a perfect balance between traditional and inspired. The portion sizes were just right, leaving one satisfied but not overly full. We had beef croquettes and lamb ravioli as an appetizer, braised pork cheek as an entree, and rosemary ice cream for dessert. I can happily recommend them all.
And of course, the wine. The wine produced at Abadia Retuerta is simply world-class and not to be missed - but of course, if you're reading this review, you probably already know this.
Apart from a few minor hiccups with an inexperienced waitress (bringing out the wrong entree and struggling to operate the card machine), this was an excellent dining experience that I would...

Read moreAwesome place, Yulian, Paula, Carolina - everyone on the team was amazing. The Duck on rice and the chocolate dessert were top quality. The bread is unbelievable. We also tried the 2 croquetas, the jamon iberico and beef - both mind blowing. A place to come back for foodies, ambiance, and a 5 star treatment. Wine, of course, was top...
