Came in with a recommendation from the Camino Tourist office and no idea what was going to be served. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food as well as the service. There were only two servers and yet the orders were taken promptly and the food served quickly.
I barely spoke any Spanish so entrusted the server to send me whatever he thought was best. I had a soup to start, hake for a second course (with an option of salad instead of the usual fries), and an ice cream cake and coffee to finish - all for €15. The rooms were quite good, but the breakfast was embarrassing because we were “told off” for attempting to take an apple, banana and pre-wrapped muffins with us for our walk. I should have taken a bite of the apple and left it on the table to see what they would they have done with that!! I had paid for breakfast so had the right to eat and take what I wanted. Dinner was good, we were the only people dining and had the pilgrim menu. Breakfast was a bit disorganised and not much on offer. Lots of large tour groups stay at this hotel and they all arrive at breakfast the same time so if you arrive after them the breakfast does not get refilled. A bit out of the way of...
