Salt? They've got it in abundance. I suspect the chef's secret ingredient is seawater straight from the Strait of Gibraltar.

Chicken? A daring choice for the risk-takers. Ours was playing a game of 'rare or medium-rare' – spoiler: the chicken won.

Payment? Ah, the grand finale! The card machine was 'broken' - a classic move. We almost expected to wash dishes for our sins of indulgence. Could they have told us before we sat down? Certainly, but they decided to keep that as a plot twist.

Bottom line: If you're up for an expensive, salty adventure, with a side of financial surprises, this is your spot. Otherwise, you might just want to stick to.. literally...

Our first visit to this amazing restaurant. We have been coming to tarifa for 22 years and haven’t stumbled across this place before. We had the alcachofas (artichokes ) and they were possibly the best we’ve ever had in Spain. Then the steak tartar which I’m not a fan of. But it was really good and presented spectacularly. The rabo de toro was quite possibly the best we have ever had in any restaurant in Spain. And we have been to many many restaurants all over Spain. We went there due to the number of good reviews, despite that the most recent ones were all poor. We wanted Crujiente de atun and rabo de torro, as were both praised in the good reviews. We were told that Crujiente de atun was removed from the menu and the Rabo de torro was unavailable. We went for their “best” and most expensive steak, which is paid by 100grams. The steak was average, but 1/3 was just fat. We ordered Aperols, which they also run out of after the first 2. We were the only table and had to wait a lot for each dish. As a positive, nice tapas.
