BiBo Beach House - Tarifa — Restaurant in Tarifa

It was my birthday tonight, so obviously I had chosen, what should have been, a well respected restaurant to spend my birthday well. The waiter we had had been miserable from the get-go. No smiles or anything. He came over to take our order and when we as we asked for the croquetas and fried shrimp, which was what I was most excited to try, he only decided to tell us then, after ordering our drinks and everything, that the fryer was broken. He told us that the table next to us can order the fried food because it was a pre paid meal so they had no choice but to fry their food, but it was "impossible for us" - I know, we got lost on this logic too. I told him how upset I was because it was my birthday and I was especially excited for certain foods too, and he didnt even issue an apology.

We just felt so un-special and so un-welcome it put us all in a really horrible mood from the get-go.

So, we ended up ordering all of the brioche buns, the Russian salad, a plate of jamon & more... and all were very nice that after a while made us forget about the start and helped us enjoy the night.

The waiter we had paid no attention to us the entire night, even making direct eye contact with him, glasses empty, all plates empty, he stood around miserable. We had to manually call him every time to do the basic things a waiter should be automatically aware of, especially what you'd expect at a place like this.

Overall, horrible experience/birthday, but really nice food. Shame, but thank you to the chefs, despite the fryer situation, for saving part of...

Just been to the branch in tarifa. I will say the food was good. However so many mistakes in services! Waiting for salt over 5 minutes after asking twice was the less of it. My girlfriend ordered black rice with calamari, as shown in the menu, and revived it with squid instead, after she got it she said it is not what she order and the waiter just said its a mistake in the menu and left. We called another waiter, explained her the situation and she told us to wait. We waited 5min 10 min, already expecting to get the dish we ordered, after about 15 min comes the same waiter to tell us it is what it is, and If you want you can change dish. No I do understand mistakes happen, but why to keep us waiting for 15 min? She told him in the moment the food came she didn't want it, she told it to another waiter and Still waited for 15min, and than over 20 min for the new food. Now the did try to make it up for us with the cheapest desert in the menu, which is nice, but if you already do it you may offer the best dessert with coffee or glass of wine, just saying. In general good food, not great, very very poor service. I must add, in a restaurant that has the name Dani Garcia on it you would expact the manager to speek...

He comido como nunca, de mal. El restaurante chiringuito BIBO Tarifa está en un sitio increible, una pena que se coma tan mal. Tal vez el problema que tuvimos ha sido debido a las expectativas tan altas. Cuando vas a un establecimiento de este nivel, esperas recibir un trato magnífico, un servicio rápido y una calidad en la comida muy alta, al tratarse de un establecimiento de un cocinero que tiene en otro local dos estrellas michelín, pues las expectativas son mucho mayores. Si además estás en un chiringuito cerca de la playa, esperas comer pescado fresco si además estás en Cádiz, con más motivo esperas lo mejor. Los precios son altos. En cualquier chiringuito de playa se come mejor. No, en cualquier bar en Cádiz, cualuiera. Nunca he comido peor. Pienso que el dueño del establecimiento Dani García no ha pedido este menú, ni lo ha probado ni de lejos, el menúdegustación de BIBO Tarifa, si no se echaría las manos a la cabeza. Me apuesto públicamente una paella en mi casa, la hago yo y se la invito a este señor si es capaz de comerse dicho menú. lo firmo. Espero que llegue a sus oídos esta reseña, porque me va a dar la razón si va a Tarifa y come lo que yo hoy, un chef de este renombre, debe controlar la calidad y el servicio de sus restaurantes. La verdad reconozco mi error al no haber siquiera mirado en qué consistía el menú degustación de este sitio, pero tengo entendido que un menú degustación, son los platos estrella de la casa. Por delante mía han pasado rodaballos, platos de atún con una pinta… ensaladas exquisitas. En realidad, si hubiéramos pedido a la carta hubiéramos triunfado, eso creo, buena pinta, tenía todo, el problema ha sido el menú degustación. Hoy he comido como un niño chico me explico, sabéis el menú infantil que ponen en las cartas de las bodas que llevan para los niños, patatas fritas, croquetas, hamburguesas, bocadillos y nachos? pues justo eso he visto comido hoy nunca he comido tantos carbohidratos, patatas fritas, congeladas, pan de hamburguesas, unas croquetas malísimas, un salchichon normalito jejjeje de postre, arroz con leche, y las entradas eran nachos y eso si sirvieron un salmorejo que también lleva pan, es cierto que es lo único que se ha salvado no estaba tan malo, pero llevaba un poco de queso y estaba congelado, y duro claro, el bocadillo, no era un tal bocadillo en realidad, sino un Brioche de carne de supuesto rabo de toro, que no lo era seguro y además frío, y no llevaba huevo como las fotos que he visto después, la hamburguesa que yo he pedido era de pollo, pero el pollo estaba rebozado y frito también, mas hidratos de carbono, pan con pan comida de tontos, el menú solo llevaba fritos y pan, croquetas, patatas fritas, nachos fritos en fin ver para creer insisto que el fallo es mío, por no haber visto la carta, por un exceso de expectativas de que iba a comer de muy bien, mi mujer ha acabado con dolor de estómago, yo ya no he probado el postre el arroz con leche y caramelo, porque más carbohidratos, me parece un exceso. En relación al servicio han tardado muchísimo, no sé si por falta de camareros, porque veía muchos, pero las cosas tardaban muchísimo. Hasta el tercer plato no llegó la primera copa de vino que pedimos, cada vez que pedimos una bebida tardaban 20 minutos, el café malísimo, en fin, un desastre. Mesas sin mantel.
