STOKED SURF BAR — Restaurant in Tarifa

A very unpleasant experience yesterday. Came in at 20.10 h and waitress told me table was reserved from 21 h on, but I could sit inside after that. No problem there. So I ordered gazpacho and chicken burger. Gazpacho was literally thrown on the table within 2 minutes, and so was an undercooked burger 2 minutes later. She didn't even look at me while serving. Obviously I felt rushed and finding out that the burger was undercooked, I walked in telling her I wasn't happy about it. She started arguing about how I wasn't in a star restaurant (expecting first and second course instead of all at once) and why I was making a problem when she could just "cook it more". On top of that she told me that I had a problem, being unrealistic, and that she didn't see any problem in this situation at all. In the meantime I had lost my appetite and while paying (not for the burger) she told me I could get away with it this time, but that it's not the way the world works and that it was not her fault. Such a shame because it is a real nice place. The day before I had ordered some drinks amd the lady working at that moment was really nice and helpful. Given the other good reviews I guess I had bad luck and the waitress had a bad day. But never before I was treated so horrible in...

The place is comfy and has nice feeling. Anyway the food was terrible. The tofu poke bowl was just full with spenach, the tofu had no flavor, no marinade no nothing. The broccoli was just one big broccoli. On top of that the meal had 1 black hair in it. Zero stars.

Vegeterian burger was not as bad as poke bowl but still totally dry. Would never order that again. Only good thing was french frise witch was tasty.

I hope the place will do something to the vegeterian menu. At least now there is no food worth buying.

Funky seating area outside, view of the sea, partial shade and tables shaped into surf boards. Hamburger was fine for the price and tap water was eventually provided after insistance.
