This is our second visit, our first six months ago, so we know it is no fluke. We arrived without reservation to a very busy afternoon (late lunchtime) Saturday service and the place was buzzing with only two tables available - within 15 minutes it was full! We were the only Brits there which pleases us no end as we always try to find where the locals eat. There is one waiter who speaks reasonable English, so with our very questionable Spanish we worked out what was on the menu and decided on tuna steak with salad and potatoes x 3 and meat balls x 1. The tuna was outstanding and the meatballs were wonderfully tasty, though slightly the poor relation compared to the tuna! I was on meatballs and had a bit of food envy - though they were good. For dessert we had Golfio mouse, passion fruit mouse and cheesecake x 2. We all had beer and water with our meal. The final bill for four of us, including a well deserved tip, was €120, I’m sure for food of the same quality with similar service and a wonderful atmosphere we would have easily added €40+ euros to the bill in any of the coastal resorts. Will we return? Certainly - possibly before the end of...
Read moreStaff weren't very friendly and the restaurant was quite shabby. I ordered a soup (starter) and a chicken dish (main), but instead received a plate of oily vegetables and what appeared to be some pumpkin. I assumed this was a poor attempt at the starter, however this was actually the main course. After mentioning the issue to the staff they gave me a fish, which was actually quite nice, but still not what I originally ordered. The dessert was average, was dry in some places and too moist in others. Toilets were available but the layout made them very confusing to find, and no soap was provided. Overall I would not recommend this place, compared to others it is substandard and could do with some...
Read moreWe were looking for local food and this place just tick all our needs. We had croquetas and fish balls with local potatoes(apparently very appreciated in the whole rest of the island) for 2 and with just this 2 dishes we'd got happily satisfied. We added a dessert-of course- a homemade flan that was so great that I almost asked for a second one. (It was no possible because I was really full) Maria and Maria Jose were so kind and speaking with them you notice the passion and care they put in the food they made. They offer us a shoot of homemade licor de Gofio, soooo gooood. Thank you ladies for the food...
