El Chiringuito by La Mar de Bien — Restaurant in Torrevieja

Stopped here for a bit of lunch and waited for a table to come free. Was seated in the terrace enclosure. My chicken Milanese arrived after a reasonable wait but I was shocked to see after one slice the chicken was raw inside. I alerted the staff and the meal was removed. After about 10 mins the same meal was presented having been apparently cooked a bit more. The chips and salad re-served too. I was surprised and disappointed that the restaurant thought it was appropriate to try and reheat undercooked chicken. No apology and I noted I was also expected to reuse the cutlery I had used on the raw meat… I rejected the re-cooked chicken and didn’t feel confident to order another meal. I can’t recommend this place based on my experience. I would suggest staff are refreshed on safe food...

Unfortunately, I have to share a very negative experience from my visit to this restaurant. The staff was extremely rude and unwilling to communicate in any language other than Spanish, which made it very difficult to interact. When we tried to move to a more sheltered area outside, the waitress responded in a highly unprofessional manner by placing a “reserved” sign in front of us. Interestingly, no one occupied that table for the next hour, clearly indicating it was a fake reservation.

Fatal. Preguntamos en la entrada al chico si tenían chopitos ya que nuestro niño estaba ilusionado por comer unos, nos especifica que ellos no, pero que en el chiringuito que es de los mismos dueños tienen y nos invita a sentarnos. Le pedimos a la camarera una ración de chopitos y nos dice que primero nos tiene que servir la bebida, que ella lleva un orden, pero en ningún momento nos comunica que no tiene. Pedimos la bebida y al rato viene con la carta.Le decimos que como le habíamos dicho antes sólo queríamos una ración de puntillas o chopitos y para nuestra sorpresa nos dice que no tiene , después de habernos servido ya la bebida. Como pueden entender indignados les decimos que así no son las cosas y que no pensamos volver. El chico que nos atendió en la entrada nos dice que no nos preocupemos que nos invita a las bebidas, le decimos que no, que no queremos que nos invite, que nos traiga la cuenta, pero que no pensamos volver. Pagamos por 1cerveza, 1fanta y un zumo de melocotón 8,80€. El sitio tiene buenas vistas y el ambiente parecía idóneo, pero el personal deja mucho que desear. Lamentablemente no se lo recomiendo a nadie. No puedo valorar la comida ya que no la probamos. Se nos quitaron las ganas de pedir algo...
