Visited a normal weekday, without the show and had a Paella and some croquettas. The food there was good.
Then we visited it on the horse-show night with the menu. And wow it was like night and day foodwise. I know they want to be quick and have to quickly pump out the food, but still, did not expect it to be so bad. I've worked in the industry, so I know that it is possible to make decent food fast and consistent. I cannot fathom how they justify the "menu" being worth 32 euro. Which is the VIP price minus the normal show ticket
The first course was a "gourmet" salad. Which on the card was to be with shaved cheese, forest fruits, seeds and vinaigrette. There was no forest fruits, instead it was cheese, chicken fingers, rocket and some white dressing. Very boring and sadly the best part of the meal.
The main course we chose was the Hake, which was breaded and then dredged in watery sauce afterwards, which left a very mushy and bad texture on the breading. It was to be served with "special" potatoes. However what we got was French fries. Perhaps you can argue that fries are special, however they felt misplaced in the dish. We did not get any vegetables, due to my allergy towards bell peppers, which was a blessing in disguise. It was just pre mixed frozen vegetables from a bag(which explains we didn't get any).
The other choice was lamb, but by the look of it, we actually drew the long straw with the fish. We saw several plates of lamb returned, where little to none had been eaten. It also looked way overcooked.
The dessert was ok, but clearly not homemade. The texture on the dessert was a bit off, but taste was ok. Too bad that one of our plates was smothered in chocolate sauce even underneath it, which made for a messy situation.
The horse and flamenco show was fine. So if you want to visit on "show" days, then I clearly recommend you to eat somewhere else before the show and only pay for the show.
All in all, very disappointong experience. With very bad food blemishing an elsewise...
Read moreArrived full of excitement to this evening. We paid €60 per adult for the VIP seats. Firstly, our seats were definitely not in what I would call a VIP spot. Many “non VIP” tables had a much better view.
First course was a dry salad. No dressing. We weren’t offered any. My dad left most of his as dry lettuce is just not that nice. We saw too late that then subsequent tables were then offered oil and vinegar.
Main was lamb, “chefs special potatoes”, and veg. Chefs special potatoes are basic frozen French fries. 2/3 of our mains arrived, and after 20 minutes we had to ask where the 3rd was.. lamb was ok. Stringy. Definitely didn’t fall off the bone as a lamb shank should. And was very fatty.
Dessert was a cheap frozen cheesecake.
Now for the show… to give them their due, the flamenco dancers were great. Horses came out, trotted about, riders made their heads swing too and fro a bit. But nothing spectacular… this continued for 2hrs. Just trotting. It was actually pretty boring.
I have attached photos so you can see our “VIP view” and the meal. Unfortunately I...
Read moreLast year I reserved tickets for show only as my partner was rushed in to hospital that day and it was the last night of the holiday for my daughter and great granddaughter and I wanted to make it special. They quoted 10 euros a ticket but in the end they didn’t charge us anything because I did in fact order a meal from the normal menu and the others ordered a sweet as they had already eaten not expecting me to be back in time to go. This year I phoned and asked about tickets and was quoted 15 euros each, no problem, prices have gone up everywhere. When we arrived they asked us for 84 euros, I explained we weren’t going to eat but would probably have a sweet each and obviously drinks. They still insisted it was 84 euros without food and we were quoted wrongly by the lady who I spoke to. Fortunately there was a free Flamenca show on at our local golf club which...
