Bar Italia — Restaurant in Vélez-Málaga

Yesterday we ate at Bar Italia again for the first time in a long time, we had not been there for quite some time because of the unfriendly service, too bad because the food was always fine. Yesterday the service was not very friendly and attentive again but now the food was not good either. The carpaccio was still half frozen, cut too thick and completely tasteless and it was full of water. The lady with the big glasses told us that carpaccio should be like that. I have eaten carpaccio all over Italy/Europe and it was never as bad as this one from Bar Italia. Of course it should not be full of water and it certainly should not be served too cold because then all the taste disappears. Two of the 3 pastas arrived lukewarm or almost cold, when one of us asked if it could be heated up a bit we got a growl and with difficulty it could be heated up. The third pasta was too salty and the sauce was grainy. We will not be coming back but fortunately there are 3 (new) other good Italian restaurants in Torre that do cook with love...

We love the ambiance of this place. Before even knowing, we discussed how much it reminded us of the small family places we love in Venice. This is true Italian done right. We could share a pizza but always wind up with one each because we can’t agree on a flavor! Recently we took gnocchi bolognese and lasagna to go. Both were absolutely incredible. Dit restaurant bestaat al jaren en dat kan natuurlijk maar één oorzaak hebben, namelijk dat de kwaliteit van het eten gewoon supergoed is. Alles is vers en perfect gebalanceerd, je krijgt tenminste geen miniem glas wijn maar een royaal glas, het is een genot om je daar cullinair te laten verwennen. Ik heb overal en in 5 landen pizza's gegeten, maar de 4 quesos van Bar Italia is werkelijk de beste die ik ooit heb gehad. Nog nooit gehad dat een gerecht iets was tegengevallen, alle gerechten zijn top. Hoop dat de eigenaars nog jaren hun gastvrije en vriendelijke missie kunnen vervullen, wij voelen ons erg gelukkig als we bij Bar Italia zijn! Este restaurante existe desde hace años y, por supuesto, sólo puede tener una razón: la calidad de la comida es sencillamente excelente. Todo es fresco y perfectamente equilibrado, al menos no se sirve una copita de vino sino una copa generosa, es un placer dejarse mimar allí con delicias culinarias. He comido pizza en todas partes y en 5 países, pero la pizza 4 quesos del Bar Italia esta realmente el mejore que he probado. Nunca un plato me decepcionó, todos los platos son de primera clase .
