We had the Menu del Dia at lunchtime here and whilst on the face of it it was good value at €8.90 for 3 courses and a drink, the food really wasn't very good.
We had spring rolls to start which were OK but ultimately only had white cabbage in them, no beansprouts etc as you would normally find.
For main course we had the chicken curry with 'fried rice' which looked like boiled rice. The rice itself had peas in it (fine) but also ham of some description. Whilst we obviously aren't vegetarians it didn't mention this on the menu and if it had we probably wouldn't have ordered it as its a bit strange.
One of us had the 'fried noodles' instead of the rice and this had definitely been fried as it was very greasy. Again, as with the rice, the noodles had some kind of meat in them and also 2 prawns. This time it was more of a problem as the person it was for doesn't eat fish or shellfish and again there was no mention of it on the menu.
In an age of food allergies etc you really need to be made aware of what is put in your food and even if as with us it is less potentially dangerous and just a taste issue, you should still be made aware.
The dessert options were flan, ice cream or fried banana, the flan was alright, the ice cream cheap and low quality and the fried banana wasn't great.
Overall they would be better off charging a couple of euros more and improving the quality and choice rather than just trying to be the cheapest and letting the...
Read moreAbsolutely TERRIBLE!!!! Ordered vegetables and tofu, which should be fresh and crispy stir-ftied with a good mix of vegetables such as bean sprouts and water chestnuts. Most importantly of all, it should be made from FIRM tofu. Instead, a plate of GREY, GREASY and SLOPPY 'mush' arrived. It was INEDIBLE. Zero favour and swimming in oil. No texture. They used 'silken' tofu which is totally incorrect and unsuitable for this dish. It was sent back as nether of us could eat it. Just HORRIBLE. Earlier, a gin and tonic had been ordered. This was the smallest, meanest measure of gin we have ever seen in Spain. Totally over-priced. The only good thing was that the staff were friendly and did accept that the quality of the food was bad when we complained. They deducted the price of the horrible tofu but still charged for a bowl of plain rice which had not been eaten either. Overall, if I could give minus 5 stars, I would. Never again! There are many better Chinese restaurants than this. I struggle to think of any...
Read moreWhat has happened to this place. Prior to Covid we used this restaurant on a regular basis. Yesterday we stopped here for dinner. 8 pm on a Friday night and we are the only customers, this should have been the warning sign and we should have turned around and left. Unfortunately hindsight is a wonderful thing .We are outnumbered by the staff 3 to 1, not that you would notice as they were all busy on their phones and chatting to provide anything resembling a decent service. This couldn't give a dam attitude was carried over to the kitchen. The food was awful . . Covered in MSG in an attempt to hide it was old and tasteless. We left most of it. Staff attitude couldn't care less. When told we didn't enjoy it, they offered to box it up for us to take home. Why we would want to subject ourselves to a second helping is beyond me. We...
