Gran Muralla is a wonderful Chinese buffet place. Currently €11.50 gets you an all you can eat buffet. There is a good choice of buffet hot foods, including all the usual suspects for a Chinese. Plus, they have a great choice of meats and seafoods, with various vegetables that you can select and have cooked fresh at the live cooking station, with a list of different sauces that you can ask for and they'll add as much spiciness or not, as you like. The place itself is clean and tidy, if a tad dated but, still retains that oriental atmosphere. The staff are very kind, pleasant and helpful, although you shouldn't need much help to a self service buffet 😄. Drinks are additional but, reasonably priced. Lunch time from 12 noon til 16:30 and again from 18;00 til midnight, 7 days a week. We have now been twice in the space of 10 days and loved it, both evening the first time, then lunchtime for the second visit. Bothe times, the food stations were equally, fully stocked and of equally good quality each time. Essentially, this could be as many courses as you choose, due to the various things on offer. Start with spare ribs, sesame prawn toast, spring rolls, etc, etc ++, then perhaps crispy duck with spring onion, cucumber and hoihsin in pancake rolls and or chicken satay skewers. Then you could have a seafood or fish course, followed with chicken or beef cooked how you like it at the live station. Eat, Drink, repeat. Then there is a good selection of fruits and ice cream for dessert. For Chinese, you really can't go wrong here. And they cater for kids too. Keep them quite with their mouths full 👍😊. Highly recommended, don't miss if your in...
Read moreWe have been regular patrons since the restaurant first opened. Due to COVID-19 it's been 3 years since we last went to Vera Wok. Sadly it's declined in everything. Everywhere felt generally rather grubby and would benefit from a really deep cleaning. Tables not prepared with cutlery, napkins come wrapped around the knife and fork and napkins no longer large enough to offer adequate protection for clothing. Ready prepared food was simply passable rather than thoroughly enjoyable. Raw ingredients okay with a fair choice and the on the spot cooking to personal taste also okay. Dessert choice greatly reduced. No sign of lychee or anything a bit unusual. The ice-cream choice reduced to only 4 flavours and these were rock hard so one could only scrape a little bit off the sides. No cream available just a few syrups. The freezer looks like it hasn't been defrosted in the last 3 years!! I chose a fresh plum but it was tasteless so only ate a piece of it. The floor staff were helpful enough when called upon but not too attentive. We don't want anyone fauning over us but it's always nice to think some care is involved. We did feel the chef, cooking our chosen raw ingredients, wanted to please his customers and that was pleasing. In conclusion; If you are really hungry, want to fill yourself relatively cheaply and aren't concerned about individual flavours or quality then this might suit you. Sad to say this was our last visit to Vera...
Read moreWe enjoyed the food. We especially liked the sushi and our chef cooked plates (chopped chicken/steak with vegetables) were both really nice although the steak was a little tough. A selection of the usual type starters were ok too. There's a good selection of fruit plus various flavours of ice cream for dessert. Although this restaurant is very small compared to most Chinese buffets, there is plenty of choice and we didn't find much lacking. I talked to the Indonesian chef as he was cooking my meal but the rest of the staff are not very communicative and to be honest look a little scruffy in jeans & t shirts. We had previously been here 7 years ago when we were staying in the area & it doesn't seem to have changed at all. We would eat there again. The list of "Which dishes do you recommend" seems to have a lot of dishes listed that aren't available at this restaurant which...
