This was my 3rd visit at Che del Mar – the two first ones were in October 2021. I was meet with a very familiar service: “Welcome back!”. Impressive! I didn’t ask for the menu but asked for Master chef and owner Martíns recommendation. He is a wizard in cooking shellfish and fish to absolute perfection, and even takes time to check if everything is perfect (it was!) and give tips on seasoning the oysters (liqourice powder – oh yes!), opening the shellfish correctly and so on. The food was lovely, really enjoyed it all and the portion sizes were ample. My son ordered a filet steak which I'm sure came as some sort of pork steak - which they insisted was beef filet, but it was definitely pork. Didn't bother my son, he said it was delicious so ate it without complaint. I probably wouldn't go back again as it was quite expensive and didn't have an expensive restaurant feel. ....de como la alta cocina mediterránea se puede disfrutar a un nivel tan elevado de sensillez y humildad por parte de los responsables de este establecimiento. A mi entender un chef como el Sr. Martín, al frente de este negocio, está desaprovechado, en el buen sentido; podría estar en cualquier otro lugar que se precie, pero está en el Che del Mar!!. Sin duda alguna, el mejor restaurante-marisquería de toda la Costa Daurada y me atrevería a decir que de los más punteros de Catalunya.
Hoy nos hemos pedido unos riquísimos calamarcitos y una paella de bogavante que nos ha dejado sin palabras. Lo habíamos hecho con anterioridad y teníamos pendiente una reseña como la presente. Se nota el producto fresco y la calidad en general pero ante todo el "toque", ése toque que sólo un maestro de alta cocina puede dar.
Por nuestra parte sólo tenemos palabras de satisfacción pero también de agradecimiento al equipo humano que hace posible que el Che sea lo que es. Seriedad, pero sobretodo amabilidad. Aún y el volumen de clientes que todos los días llenan las mesas del local, jamás les falta una sonrisa ni tampoco algún que otro detalle.
No se dejen engañar, la calidad en todos los sentidos tiene un precio y les aseguro que vale la pena tener al Che como la mejor opción de una brillante experiencia culinaria marinera que no les dejará...
