We recently dined at this high-end hotel restaurant expecting a level of service that would match its reputation, ambiance, and elegant decor. Unfortunately, our experience fell short.
From the beginning, our assigned waiter was not pleasant—distant and inattentive, with a tone that felt dismissive. After we politely mentioned our concerns to the individual who brought our wine—a highly professional and courteous staff member—he graciously took over service for the remainder of our meal. His attention and demeanor were a much-needed improvement and very much appreciated.
One aspect that stood out was the overall atmosphere of the restaurant: stylish interiors and thoughtfully curated artwork that suggest a refined, world-class dining experience. However, the service we initially received did not align with that image.
While I speak Spanish fluently, I am American, and we were dining with two friends who are native Spaniards. It did cross our minds that perhaps we might have received better treatment had we spoken in English from the start, as the hotel seems to cater primarily to international tourists.
For a restaurant of this caliber, especially within a luxury hotel, a consistently high level of hospitality should be a given.
