We first went to Los Almendros over 30 years ago when we first came to Javea. Unfortunately we never visited since as often as we should. However, in a sentimental moment we thought it would be good to revisit those places we had been to in those early years and see what memories it brought back. We were not dissappointed.
The food was still great value for money and the service from the young waiter and waitress was delightful. The place was spotless, linen tablecloths and super clean washroom services.(the ones you would be glad to let your mother use!)
Times have changed with regard to the menu, but the evening 17.50 euro menu was exceptional. A great range of dishes for both the starters and main courses were on offer and some daily specials thrown in. Lubina, lamb, steak, lenguado, duck, pork cheek, vegetarian, there was literally something for everyone. The starters were different too, not just the normal fayre but some very mouth watering dishes, stuffed mushrooms, avocado, home made soup, mussels, and grilled vegetables,it really had us all confused as to what to choose. The Valencian house wine "Velata" included with the meal was excellent as well.
It was so good we went back the following week and will continue to use thats for sure. If you are wondering where to go for a meal, try Los Almendros, I'm sure you will be pleased with your choice.Value for money, 5 out of 5. Cleanliness 5, Service 5. Oh and you can book a table via Whatsap (607957481) which is very handy, and you do receive a "confirmation" which is...
Read moreLos Almendros is a 'gem' at the foot of the Montgo! The restaurant is tastefully set out with diners very much in mind; distance between tables is just right. Staff, front of house and back, work seamlessly to provide the perfect dining experience. The menu is small enough to ensure that the dishes offered are expertly mastered by the chef (compliments to the kitchen team) and that front of house have an in-depth knowledge of the same; front of house staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers an excellent 'set menu' for €19.50 with the option of individually priced supplements. Customers with mobility needs are very well catered for. The bathrooms could do with a degree of modification as it is not immediately clear which is male or female. Also, men have their sink area in the waiting area outside the male and female cubicles. The toilets are the only area wheelchair users may find difficult. I would recommend booking in advance. Los Almendros is exceptional value for money; you will not be...
Read moreI want to like this place more because the food is good. But the service is terrible! It shouldn't take 2.5 hours for 2 people in a half empty restaurant. The young girl waitress was rushed off her feet and was trying her hardest, can't say the same for her colleague though as he clearly wasnt bothered as his attention was elsewhere. You know something isn't right when in the time it took for our mains to be cleared after we had finished, a table of 4 walked in who were then served both their bread , starters and their main course before our desert even reached our table. The service you receive is a massive part of the whole dining out experience and the service I received completely ruined our whole dinner. Such a...
