We've been living here since last October. We've eaten out in different restaurants, of all standards, every week, sometimes twice.
This was the worst restaurant we have been to not just in Spain, but the worst in Europe!
The chef has absolutely no idea what he's doing. The dreadful food is pretentious and seriously overpriced. We've had better presented, tastier food in motorway cafes for a quarter of the price.
I'm guessing the chef has worked in a good restaurant for six months, seen descriptions of food and left believing he/she is qualified and joined the Mirador! He/she has absolutely no idea. My husband and I cook far more refined, far tastier dishes at home. Duck with a raspberry sauce ... and chips! An insult to the duck who died in vain! Monkfish - so overcooked it would have been put to better use by Goodyear! Both dishes tasteless ... and that was after we'd already sent the starters back! 23€ for the rubber fish seasoned by the packets of salt and pepper on the tables! Not exactly stylish.
To summarise .... There are far far better restaurants with far far better food all over the Javea and Moraira area. The Mirador is overpriced, pretentious and cheap in quality. An all round bad experience. If you're going for it's location and view then you're far better off grabbing a coffee and ice cream from the kiosk next door and enjoying the view from there.
Alternatively, just steer clear of Mirador and give your custom to the many excellent restaurants out there regardless of whether they're tapas bars, fish and chip bars or, Michelin starred establishments. Sorry ... this is harsh but true.
As a final note .... the lady who served us was lovely and, certainly tried her best for us. However, the Manager or owner of the place could not care less. He did not come over to us and simply scowled at us as we left after paying 75€ for...
Read moreTOURIST TRAP!!! Had lunch in once and wish we never came to this restaurant. The service was terrible, the food was awful and the view is just not worth all the crap we had. We ordered a bottle of wine (the waiter didn’t even care to pour it for us and ask if it was alright), waited 40 mins just to get served bread and fried calamari, waited another 40 mins just to have our table cleaned before the main courses and after 40 mins of waiting we asked for our main courses which of course were just sitting on the kitchen counter. So everything was cold and overcooked, ordered a rare entrecote, received the most well done piece of beef ever, same with the chicken and pork and the fish was terribly cooked as well. We told the staff and restaurant manager and they didn’t do anything, didn’t even try to make it up by taking out the bottle of wine from the bill. Honestly, will never come back. I wish I could give ZERO stars but can’t. So here you go, take you 1 star and...
Read moreNineteen years ago I proposed to my wife in this restaurant, so it holds a very special place in my heart and when we were back holidaying in the area it was a must that we should return. I was pleasantly surprised to see that very little had changed and while chatting to the waiter I discovered that the owner was still the same guy from all those years ago. I had emailed to book a table and asked for one by the window, we were shown to what I considered to be the best table in the house, in the corner with incredible views on either side, so things got off to a perfect start. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the service and the experience as a whole. We will certainly be back and will try not to leave it...
