Playa de Cala Ambolo — Attraction in Xàbia / Jávea

You need to drive through a restricted road to get to this beach because it is closed to the public.

You will see warning signs, but we ignored them and just drove as far as we could downhill towards the beach.

There were several places to park on the road down when we came here. You will need to hike down to the beach and walk accross a bunch of rocks. The walk uphill back to the car may be challenging for some people.

Turquoise water with beautiful surroundings. It’s a bit of walk down the beach (around 20 min), because the cars need to be parked high up, but once there it’s quite worth it. There is a rock nearby where you can swim to it and jump off. The beach is pebbled and narrow. There is no facilities, which adds to the experience. Although beautiful turquoise, the water is not crystal clear. You can’t really see anything in the water near the shore. The view however...

What an unforgettable spot! Seriously, I can't recommend this place enough, whether you're admiring the view from the top or diving into that incredibly clear water down below. The route to the water follows an old, almost forgotten path (you'll find the access point to the left of the closed-off area). And yes, the descent is challenging and unmaintained in places due to natural rockfall. But trust me, the journey down is 100% worth...
