German hospitality at its finest!
After a beautiful drive up the mountains we were in for a big surprise. Only cash, which is no problem at all but since we carried only a small amount we figured we would look at the menu first.
Without getting the chance to take a seat, we were asked by this ‘hostess’: what do you want to drink?!
Caught up by this question without even having the chance to sit down I said: maybe wine. She laughed and mocked us with other guests repeating ‘Maybe wine, maybe wine’.
Nein, nein, nein, that’s not how it works.
Another waiter brought us two red wines. We replied by saying we didn’t order wine. He told us he would send his ‘boss’.
The hostess walked passed our table at least 10 times, purposely refusing to serve us. Shockingly, when we decided to leave as we weren’t being served, it appeared the hostess was not blind after all!
She started making a scene and got quite aggressive. After threatening to write down our license plate, she told us to leave(in not so polite words) and we told her the same in not so polite words as well.

Read moreHad lunch on Saturday with friends at this restaurant and were very disappointed. I have been to this place before and had very pleasant impressions, but this time we encountered a very unfriendly attitude - we booked a table for 13, but finished the mountain walk earlier and arrived earlier, we were not allowed inside and were not offered a comfortable wait, woman, who subsequently served us, demonstrated ill will with all her appearance. the first time I was with my dog as well and we sat inside, this time when we were finally allowed in, the same woman was passive-aggressive and spoke out against dogs, although we were seated on the covered terrace. When she once again demanded “to put the dogs in the corner, because people will come to the neighboring tables and will be against it, and she will lose money,” we could not stand it and expressed our emotions in connection with such an unwelcoming reception. She didn't say anything else and we had lunch relatively calmly, the food was delicious, but we...
Read moreStunningly wonderful rustic food. Beautifully balanced flavours. More than anyone ought to eat (if you want it). Couscous, soup (the best I've had in a very long time &, without doubt, home made) followed by a salad with the most devine dressing for you to add to suit your own taste. I had the lamb shoulder. I'd tell you how good it was but I can't find the words. All this comes with a very large carafe of red wine of a very acceptable standard. Dessert: Don't know. The kids had ice cream but my wife & I were done. The staff & service couldn't be better. All this for 23 Euros. On top of this you have the most delightful views on the drive there. Having just moved into the Xabia area to live we will be back often. Please note: cash only, no credit...
