If you go to Zahara, please go eat here !
I have rarely been in a restaurant where the service, the atmosphere and the food were all three as good. Seated in no time, the waitress put us at a nice table on the plaza, which faces a charming small church. The area is beautiful, you feel transported away from home, regardless of where you come from. All along our time in the restaurant the staff was looking out for us, and food was served in no time. For the price we payed, we werenât expecting anything crazy but were really surprised by the type of food you can find for this money (family type: not gastronomical outstanding, but serving you some honest, good food). I really recommend the octopus tapas which were very elaborated. Service was done in no time, and with a smile ! I know it shouldnât be something to mention but itâs rare these days. All I can tell you is to come try La Era, it will really reset the standards of what a honest, good restaurant should be. Thank you, you transformed a good day in Zahara into an afternoon I think we will all...
Read moreThis was THE WORST restaurant I have ever been to. My girlfriend ordered meat, but the waiter brought an octopus. Not speaking Spanish, she thought she ordered the wrong dish. 10 minutes later the waiter came and apologized that there was a mistake and she shouldn't have gotten the octopus and if she likes the meat instead. She said yes, the waiter brought the meat. She wanted to give the octopus back, but the waiter said she can have it, since she had started eating. When we finished, the waiter brought the bill with BOTH the octopus and the meat on it. I said I was sorry, but I would not pay for their mistake, they themselves apologized for. Then the owner, who was rude and aggressive, came and said he would call the authorities. I agreed. When the police came it turned out they were friends with the owner (Zahara is a very small town) and the policeman forced us to pay. Worst experience ever. I never had to argue about the bill with anyone in any restaurant in the world. La era...
Read moreWe reached the place after a nice walk in the city: it took almost one hour before the waiter got our order and to receive our meals. The "ensalada del mar" didn't contain any sea fruit, was "swimming" in a deep mayonnaise and had nothing to do with a salad, the sirloin was too thin, too cooked and hard to chew, its taste was disgusting since it had been cooked in a pan full of oil, the fish was a daurade that tasted tilapia-like, served dry and without any sauce or spice. After complaining to the waiter, she fended off for a long time. But after long insisting, she brought us a cut vegetables salad instead of the "ensalada del mar": the salad arrived without dressing. At the end, the bill also reported the "ensalada del mar" and the cut vegetables salad. Etc, etc... Each one of our seven guests was disappointed. And moreover, we all suffered of intestinal bloating during...
