Ljugarns strandcafé och restaurang — Restaurant in Gotland Municipality

I was here with my family and close relatives. It took quite a while to get the food in the first place. The food itself was fine, although a bit oily perhaps.

The main reason I give just one star is the following: My mother has celiak disease (i.e very gluten intolerant). She made sure to ask very clearly if her food was gluten free. The waitress replied with a confident yes.

However, when the food was brought out by a different waitress, my mum made sure to ask once again if the food in fact was gluten free. The waitress went to check with the kitchen, and came back with the information that the food was in fact not gluten free.

When she asked for a new dish, she was told that they were out of that dish for the day, and that she could order something else.

About 15 minutes after everyone else finished their food, she finally got her oily Sandwich.

A wee lemonade was the only compensation given. Shameful...

Better it can't get in Sweden! Had breakfast here a few days and probably never had a more personal and high quality food served anywhere else in the world. And if you follow me you know I have had som breakfast abroad. Dinner or lunch had same quality and great service. Can't say anything if it would look the same during high season that starts next week. Possibly to charge a car on the backside of the Café. Adventure golf, beach volleyball or beach tennis is available to rent /lend. We will definitely be back next time we...

Magnificent location, friendly young staff (summer jobs for some? So random quality). Beautiful and very good plates (with tasty shrimps!). For some dishes there is a vegetarian option, which is great, bravo! On the downside, the Spicy Tuna Tekkadon plate is mostly full and hidden by rice under the garnish, so you get the impression you're being ripped off for the price! But the taste was there...
