HALMSTAD – IT IS HARD TO FIND ANYTHING OK TO EAT!

“Soder familjen’s” great advantage is a wonderful river/harbour side location!

The food and wine is just acceptable home-cooking level. However in a town were most restaurants serves the most inedible garbage imaginable it is sort of a safe harbour, no pun intended. The restaurant is by international standard very expensive for what they serve, but so is nearly any other restaurant in Sweden. However ingredients seems quite healthy and fresh, although the quality of the ingredients, like nearly any other Swedish eateries, is very low supermarket level (Swedish supermarket ingredients are shockingly bad; meats, vegetables, and fruits). Compared with the owners other place “Tillsammans” (also fabolous location), were they seem to have lost all ambition to serve edible food, even the pizza in "Tillsammans" is not good (even after Swedish standard, Sweden has among the absolutely worst, disgusting, pizzas in the world. You would be truly grossed out, in more than one way, if you have the guts to try one(!)), “Soder familjen” compares very favorably.

It is on of the few restaurants in Halmstad were you will not get really disappointed (or even utterly disgusted) by the food, but rather have a relaxed meal...

First time ever in my 9 years in Sweden that I actually left a restaurant. Visited the place with a company of six (had booked), waited at least 30minutes before someone even took an order from us, let alone bring some water to the table. Once we gave our orders, the staff starting serving tables that arrived after us, going around us like we did not exist in their view. After an hour of waiting for our orders we asked the staff about what is going on and the response was "i understand". Not even a slight apology for the delay. Then we also got to know that our orders where just starting to get fixed. After hearing that we all decided to leave, pay for our drinks and will never come back or recommend this...

Alltså, skön atmosfär och behagligt läge vid Nissan. Servicen, maten och väntetiden lämnade övrigt att önska. Anlände till ett bord med vy över Nissan. Bordet oerhört nerkladdat. Gick in för att hämta en trasa eller hoppades att personalen skulle fixa till det. - Du kan ju själv ta servetter från de andra borden och fixa det, sa kassatjejen. Nåja, vidare - Maten kom efter 29 minuter. Bahn mi: fnösketorr kyckling på ett gammalt torrt bake-off bröd. Ni vet de där som man köper i en plastförpackning och som är omöjliga att få till bra. Ett gammalt sådant bröd matar man knappt en hund med! Trist upplevelse i stort. Blir inget återbesök. Hade förväntat mig bättre. Ett tips är väl att den i kassan berättar att man hämtar bestick och servett själv. Inget stort problem men såg flera gäster som just fått sin mat och fick resa sig - absolut inget ambition från serveringspersonalen att hämta åt dem. Herregud, de är väl inte där för kundernas skull. Vad var bra då? Jo, vattenskål till hunden...
