ChopChop Asian Express — Restaurant in Kalmar kommun

This place had been chosen for dinner on the way to north Sweden due to good distance from ferry in Karlskrona and suitable opening times, based on positive reviews here. Well... during the visit in the evening on 2nd August 2025, positive were only two things: quickly prepared meal and meal nicely arranged. However, meal was only average, as in every cheap asian bistro in the Czech republic. It was too fat, noodles swimming in oil pool in the bottom of the dish. Unpleasantly surprising was also chilli served extra in plastic can - the meal should be spicy. On the floor, in front of drinks filling machine, was giant disgusting puddle of spilled drinks mixed with wet napkins. Everybody filling drinks had to walk in, carying mess from the puddle on shoes through the restaurant. Personnel of the restaurant payed no attention to it. After my notice to the woman behind cashier, it took several minutes to a guy, who came with dry mop, trying to wipe it. The same guy was a while before adding new sticks to the relevant place, with sticks falling everywhere and he returned them back... hygiene seemed to him as very unknown word... Food selection and quality very good. Toilets very clean and modern. The only real negative was that we searched all tables but could not find one that did not feel sticky or affected by spillages. We requested staff to clean a table for us and the very nice young lady did so, but she only cleaned our table. We ate our very interesting and enjoyable food over about one hour and during that time the restaurant was moderately busy with customers who sat at tables that needed cleaning, but at no time did staff do anything to ensure that customers could dine on clean tables. It is a very cozy place. The music is very nice, they played banger after banger. I loved the orange chicken very much, I will return sometime to get more. The drinks are nice despite not having ice cubes, it’s still fizzy, cold and delicious. The shrimps are very delicious as well. The vegetarian option pak choi tofu was also delish. We did have an issue with our order but they handled it nicely. We got the wrong order plate for free!:)
