UPDATE MAY Things are getting weird at this place. The food is still good, but during my last three visits, me and my fellows have all been experiencing the staff being condensing and straight up rude while asking questions about the food. Downgrading to three stars. In the restaurant business, service is key, and no matter how good the food is, I'd never ever recommend someone ruining a good meal with bad reception.
JANUARY Holy mother. Where to begin? The photos below is about 2/3 of our meal we ordered for two persons. We paid a total of 165 SEK including 250 g shawarma, five falafels, one can of ice cold coke and a so called salad, see photo, (hummus, tabbouleh etc).
Everything was friggin delicious.
If you're in Malmö and looking for the best place for falafel and shawarma - don't look any further that Falafel Baghdad.
Should be said that the staff was super friendly to all customers during our visit. I can see in other reviews that hasn't always been the case. Maybe they took feedback from...

I’ve never had Iraqi food before, so this was a fun new adventure! The Iraqi bread was quite cute 🍞, but I’ll be honest—it was still a bit like white bread, nothing too exotic for me. The portion size was generous 🍽️, and while the flavors weren't the most mind-blowing, it was still a good experience. Compared to Swedish food though... my God, this was heaven! 🌟
The only downside was the communication with the staff 😅. It was a bit tricky, especially in English, though they seemed to get along just fine with the locals. 🌍 But honestly, the food made up for it.
All in all, I’d definitely recommend it! If you’re looking for a tasty change of pace from typical Swedish fare, this place is a...
Read moreI’m usually pretty sceptic to falafel. Most of the time it’s just dry balls of chickpeas in my opinion. These where however perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The bread was soft and warm and felt as if it came straight out of the oven. They had a wide selection of super fresh vegetables and sauces, although I missed the pickled turnip (the pink vegetable). Next time around I want to try the halloumi and ask for more sauces as they only give you one sauce by default.
All in all: brilliant and ridiculously cheap falafel (at least for someone who’s from Stockholm).
It should also be mentioned that the staff if super friendly and genuinely glad to have you there. I will definitely come back again when...
