We were so excited to find this restaurant a few years ago, but recently it has gone downhill: we ordered cashews to accompany a dish and they tasted as though they had been doused in cleaner/disinfectant, rendering them inedible; we ordered take-away, and were two dishes short (we were reimbursed after calling in to let them know). Tonight was the last straw. We came to dine in this evening and were met by a gum-chewing waitress, who seated us at an incredibly dirty table, where clients had been sitting waiting for their take-away. She did not clear away the bowl that had been sitting on the table, and did not wipe the table down. When she brought the menus, I asked her to please clean the table, and she just looked at me, chewing gum, as if I were asking her to do something crazy instead of her job. She then reluctantly came over and ”wiped down the table” but obviously didn’t do the job properly. At that point I asked my husband to please leave and eat elsewhere. If they are okay with the front of the house being so unhygienic, what is their kitchen like? Eat at your own risk.
We have tried many “Chinese “ restaurants in Europe. But coming from Vancouver. I can honestly say this is one of our favourites…authentic flavours, excellent service and...
Read moreThe food's not as epic as the review/ratings indicate. The mapo tofu felt off balance and lacked umami, the aubergine in hot and sweet sauce lacked the heat to balance the sweet glaze. The rice was cold and scraped from the bottom of the rice cooker. The food here is not bad at all, but it is all that it is, not bad. The mistake I made was that based on its high ratings I was expecting Golden Crown Svedala level food. If you are really craving epic chinese food take the short train to Svedala and eat at Golden Crown; you'll remember that meal, while this one here at Sichuan would likely fade away into...
Read moreGood spicy food, quick service, clean and quiet restaurant! We (2 people) ordered the Sichuan beef and Sichuan fish, all the same sauce just different protein. Both dishes are big, hence the price (~188-198kr), should be shared by 2 people. We need to ask for a box to pack the leftover.
I prefer the beef than the fish, could be due to the "grass" taste of the fish (pangasius). Not the dish's fault, that's just how pangasius tastes like. I would like to order the braised fish but it would take 30 mins to cook so I...
