ISHTAR restaurant — Restaurant in Malmö kommun

My family was there last year and spoke very highly of the restaurant so we went there this week and were very dissapointed. The dolma was unedible when it was first served, it seemed as if it was frozen and not properly heated, but they assured us it was cooked on the day, so maybe it was just raw and cold.

Meat skewers were not very nice. Maqloube and Quzi were not flavourful. Mazgouf, the signature Iraqi fish was dry (this happens easily when the fish is small) and burnt... The bread did not seem fresh and was definitely not warm when served. Soup came for free, was not hot either. Tea, was also not hot.

When we complained they and requested to speak to the owner we were told he was not there. Maybe the food would have been better under their supervision as last year the food was good. Overall, a quite dissapointing meal which was...

Resturant did look great, even though we had been placed beside the children's playroom. Which was a bit irritating to watch, and the children were throwing stuff at each other, even at the glass. The food was fine even though we got an order wrong but was a 50/50 fault since the menu said with rice or fries but the waiter didn't ask but just put fries on and we didn't say anything either. It kind of would be nice if the waiters had uniforms or something so you easily could recognise them. But the service that they bring is amazing their almost running to get/bring your food. Hands down in my opinion the best Iraqi food spot in Malmö (even the whole county of Skåne). The quality and freshness of the food combined with the unique flavours of herbs and spices makes for a truly authentic food experience.
