The Kitchen - Restaurang Nyköping — Restaurant in Nyköpings kommun

Edited a typo. Our visit was in in mid-June. Food was mediocre for the price. The worst was the waiting.. When we arrived we were the second group. We're 4 adults and 1 kid but we only got our food after groups 3, 4 &5. Was it because we ordered some appetisers so our mains comes after the other groups? Even so, our mains never came out together. The waiting time between the first mains and the second was at least 15mins and then another 15 mins for the third. Mains 4 & 5 came together after another 15mins. The steak was overcooked, the burger was nothing great for the price, the mussels were overcooked and we all didn't eat together because food was getting cold for the ones who got their food first. It was supposed to be a celebratory dinner but ended pretty unsatisfactory. Quite disappointing because I was here a few years ago for lunch and it was great therefore decided to give it a try for dinner but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Ska jag vara helt ärlig så är maten mer 3,5-4 än en 3:a på detta ställe, men då uppenbarligen visst folk ger 5:or till stället (som det absolut inte är värt!) - så får jag försöka balansera det hela lite =) - Nåväl - servicen är det inget fel på, trevlig personal (om dock med lite dålig koll på vilket bord som var vilket) - men då man tar trehundra för en varmrätt, och både serverar en fläskfilé som är relativt torr (och som kan diskuteras om det ens var fläskfilé - konsistensen påminde mer om fläskkotlett!) och snålar rejält på såserna både till förrätt (carpaccio, med mycket fabriksförpackad sallad, men uselt med balsamicodressing till) och till varmrätt (god parmesaninbakad gösfilé, men världens minsta bytta med sås) så känns det som att en fyra i betyg får man jobba lite mer på! Det "annex" vi satt i - rosamålat rum med högt i tak, får man nog också slipa en hel del på. Udda tavlor som satt huller om buller, en bucklig affisch som dolde repor i väggen, ett vägguttag som höll på att ramla ned, ganska omysig belysning, udda stolar och bord - hälften av borden har duk och ljus, resten har det inte. Omärkt toalett - handdukstork på toaletten som får matlokalen att vibrera! Nja, gör om gör rätt i den delen av restaurangen, tack! Beautiful location by the river with a wide terrace, perfect for warm summer days. Unfortunately all the pros are limited there, as the service was basic even though the staff was polite but not well informed about the menu. Menu was limited and the burgers were a disgrace! The only tasteful plate was the seafood spaghetti! The toilet wasn't really taken care of! Pity cause the place could really make a difference...
