Koh Chang — Restaurant in Sigtuna kommun

This restaurant really has room for improvement, especially by serving more authentic Thai food. The interior is a bit more upscale than you typical hole-in-the-wall Thai place. There were two cooks and two waiters serving the tables, which were empty, except for me and a family of three, this Sunday lunch. My waiter looked very bored. Not even a hint of a smile at any time during my visit, except at one time when he was chatting with the cooks. I ordered the chicken basil, which arrived promptly at my table. The taste was somewhere in between Thai chicken basil and some sweet and sour mix, which was disappointing, since the place markets itself as serving Thai food. Strong taste of MSG, which lingered and left me very thirsty during the rest of the day. The chicken was mushy, in the way that is typical when it has been tenderized with baking soda, which also contributed to the overall impression of the food as more of something you would find in a classic "Chinese" restaurant in Sweden, rather than in an authentic Thai restaurant. I paid 120 SEK for the chicken basil, which is a little too much in my opinion for a restaurant with this location and profile, making me wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to cut down on the staff and lower the prices. Tyvärr bemöttes jag med en väldig tråkig ton när jag talade om för en av de anställda eller ägare att de oftast glömmer att skicka med allt när man beställer mar för avhämtning. De har totalt missat 4 gånger på raken och vi var mer eller mindre stamkunder . Han börjar istället ifrågasätta mig istället för att göra rätt för sig. Jag försökte förklara att vi betalat för en hel rätt men de har missat att skicka med ris. Jag har då ringt och då har de beklagat och sagt att de bjuder på räkchips nästa gång.. Om jag har handlat för 438kr vid ett tillfälle och inte fått med ris och sås , räkchips är väl inte svaret då? Jag tog uppde senaste besöken och nämnde att jag i samband med köpen ringt igen. Han föreslog att jag borfe själv åkt tillbaka till restaurangen (10km) för att hämta det som saknats.Nivån på det hela var så lågt och jag blev både paff och besviken och förundrad över hur girig en restaurang kan vara men också nonchalanta och nästintill otrevliga med attityd .

Av den anledningen är de svartlistade i min bok. Maten har varierat i smak dessutom till det sämre senaste tiden.

Vill du ha God mat och God service och inte vill bli snuvad på pengar ska du INTE gå till Koh Chang.

Definitely the best food in town! I hope they make the place look nicer, it has a really stiff environment, from outside it looks almost as if they are closed up. Always chosen to not go there before because of how it looks, we actually went in there as a last resort because we were crazy hungry and the restaurant on the other side was full. Please make the environment match the quality...
