Text below was the review I wrote a year ago. On this day, Elma has lost all the quality it used to have. Prices have just gone up, and the food quality has drastically dropped. It feels like the ingredients that they use have become of less quality, and sauces feel almost uncooked at times. Service has also become more dettached, and hard to get hold of. The atmosphere is still good, the restaurant has a really good location, in north Rosendal, and both the indoors of the restaurant and the terrace feel like really nice places to be. It used to be a place I would visit weekly, or even multiple times per week at lunch, so I really miss what Elma used to be in terms of food quality/price, the one I reviewed below:
"Great place for any ocasion. Really good lunch menu during working days, always with vegetarian alternatives, a pizza of the week, and some more good dishes. Then there is a really nice selection of pizzas and food at any time on their regular menu, everything clearly made with quality products! They have also seasonal changes in the menu that makes it more exciting to always try new things. Personel is very nice and attentive. I like that water is always served immediately at the table. Also, their bread...
Read moreUsed to come here regularly and always enjoyed their food and service. However, now when my partner and I tried to go and have dinner, we were very rudely told to leave our stroller outside (the restaurant was 90 percent empty). When we asked how come as we have been there several times with the stroller with no issues , we were pretty much accused of lying and asked to specify a date we did that. Even the same personnel member has helped me before a few months ago to keep the door open so I could come in with the stroller, and never heard any comments about it before. Very rude and unprofessional treatment of families, and wonât be coming back here again unfortunately.
If strollers are not allowed inside it can be communicated in a professional way without feeling as a customer that you are attacked and accused of lying.
PS They also have high chairs, which look very trendy but are dangerously unsafe. So be cautious when using them so your child doesnât slip through the gaping holes...
Read moreThe place is well located with an original interior design. I have only tried their pizzas and I must say: "So far the best Pizza in Uppsala. Thanks guys, you makes me feel closer to home!". The chef is very skilled in dealing with the wooden oven (as an ex pizza maker I know it can be tricky). The results is a perfect backed dough never burnt or uncooked. All the employees are always kind and friendly ready to satisfy every your request. they have a good pizza selection and you are more than welcome to make variation on the menu. Prices are in line with the Swedish standard.
I like the fact that they donÂŽt use the "Italian brand quality" for their marketing even if their quality is along or maybe above average Italian level.
The only negative comment is the closing time during week days is that is at 09 P.M.
I really recommend this place to every...
