UB Sushi — Restaurant in Uppsala kommun

The LEAST fresh salmon in a poke bowl i've ever tasted. If i defrosted a salmon fillet from ica and diced it, that's what it would taste like. I didn't eat it. Cold defrosted edamame beans and mango. But warm rice. Together, a bad combination.

The sushi are expensive compared to the baseline for lunch restaurants. The default sushi don't even specify what you'll be getting, just "chef's choice". The default terminal to order food from doesn't have a single option to leave a comment or a wish, or dietary restrictions.

However, good service (i asked to avoid putting mayo on my food and that was done), and the place is very cozy with good decor. With a serious upgrade on fresh ingredients, it could be great. Any non-fresh ingredient based rolls were good.

UPD: this time I tried ramen. There's only one in the actual menu despite two on the menu board. The egg was for some inexplicable reason MIXED IN THE SOUP RAW, like egg drop soup. These people have never seen ramen before. The miso soup was absolutely inexplicably SPICY. ramen taste was ok...

UB sushi is, without a doubt, the best sushi place in Uppsala. For lunch, it is the perfect place to come and enjoy the food from the menu at a lower price. Their miso soup (included at lunch) is very good, with a spicy touch and fresh and lemony. The sushi is amazing, and when ordering the mixed plates it can always be a bit different, which makes it more exciting. The plates are all different and beautiful, which makes food more aesthetically pleasant. They have a nice terrace during the summer, but also a very nice indoors place in the winter. They are also available for service take away, which is good when wanting to enjoy their amazing food at home. The personel and the service is also very good.

There is only one bad thing. During lunch time, the coffee is included, which is very nice, but the coffee in itself is very bad. It is very diluted and tasteless. It would be nice to get better coffee at the end of the lunch before needing to come...

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE. As I cannot review again, I am updating my review. UB sushi is easily becoming the most INFURIATING place. Today we ordered to hämta sjelv. When we arrived at the time indicated, they had not even STARTED to prepare the food. They had a pile of paper orders just laying around, untouched. They did not help us cancel the order nor apologized. This is the last time we buy from UB sushi. It is not worth it, the sushi is not even as good as it was. If you want better sushi and better service, TRY BETTER OPTIONS LIKE MIRAI SUSHI - much more worth it your time. We are done.
