Restaurant du Chasseur — Restaurant in Allaman

We went to the restaurant for a birthday dinner in the end of the last week. The place was quite full, the seating adequate, outside terrace was closed, it is still cold. Some of us had menues and others dined a la carte.

There was some small confusion about wine order, but it was corrected quickly. The empanada was good but somehow came without sauce(s). Other appetizers were OK.

We did have problem with the sauces: had chimichurri in one of the menues plus asked for it specifically separately. Still, when a sauce arrived, it looked and tasted much more like chermoula to me. It did not have a speck of green. It tasted OK and we stopped asking for chimichirri, but I am still uncertain if it was their "special" chimichirri or it was just another mistake.

All of us eat Argentinian beef of different cuts. I am aware that Argentinian cuts are different from European, and taste is less intense and not variable. Perhaps due to the light taste I felt that the meat could have gained from some presalting.

Desserts were killers, especially Don Pedro.

We enjoyed empanadas but the surface of fried part was toot thick.

Sausage was amazing. I think it was better than the steak we had.

Because the steak was not that tender as written in menu. Somehow we felt gas in our stomach after eating the steak.

We didn't enjoy the dessert. Too sweet overall and taste was not really balanced.

I'm sorry I just said nothing that special, but we had high expectation because of your rating and the review from the guide. Compared to that, we couldn't find sth special.

Während eines Geschäftstermins war ich dort eigentlich eingeladen und kannte dieses Restaurant nicht vorher. Deswegen kann ich schon mal nichts berichten über die Reservation, aber wir wurden sehr freundlich und aufmerksam empfangen. Kaum über die Schwelle getreten des Restaurants und das ist wirklich eine Schwelle weil es geht noch unten beim Eingang und man muss aufpassen dass man nicht stolpert wurde uns schon die Jacke und den Mantel abgenommen. Ein kleines Restaurant mit verschiedenen kleinen Räumen und je nur wenige Tische darin. Die Spezialität in diesem Restaurant ist Filet fu perche, avec des frites. Natürlich haben wir das auch genommen und ich war wirklich extrem überrascht wie wunderbar diese Fische gemacht waren und auch die Pommes frites waren absolut erste Klasse ! Wenn man es von der Karte A la carte nimmt, dann kriegt man zwei Service und man hat definitiv mehr als genug. Die dazu servierte Buttersauce ist wirklich ein Gedicht, aber natürlich auch ein absoluter Kalorienhammer, aber wirklich eine Sensation ! Der Service wird ausschliesslich von Männern gemacht und ist wirklich sehr aufmerksam. Nach meinem Empfinden ist das Restaurant ein bisschen von gehobener Klientel besucht worden und leider hat es vor dem Restaurant nur drei einzelne Parkplätze, die auch noch sehr schwierig zum rausfahren sind weil man direkt an der Hauptstrasse rückwärts in selbige wieder einspuren muss beim Herausfahren aus dem Parkplatz. Der Fischer wo die Fische her sind ist wirklich direkt an der gegenüberliegenden Strassenseite und so ist auch mehr als gesichert dass die Fische immer sehr frisch sind – wirklich sehr weiter zu empfehlen das...
