This hotel still looks like the places I used to stay in with my parents when I was a kid, back in the '60's and early '70's! It's like a time capsule. The furniture, everything. There are no amenities in the room apart from an old fashioned tv. The room was somewhat tiny but had a lovely balcony and the most magnificent lake view. The location is excellent, on the shore of this lovely lake, so make sure to have a room in the back. |There is a restaurant overlooking the lake with lots of windows, and a terrace. Personnel is very friendly. Wifi doesn't work in the rooms, but we did manage to get a working wifi signal at the reception. Breakfast was excellent.|There is no elevator.|We paid an incredible amount of money, 141 euro for one night with breakfast, plus more than 80 euros for dinner (2 glasses of wine, ice tea, some water, cheese fondue for 2, 1 small dessert and some vegetables)! The last time I paid this much for a hotel was in the Bangkok Marriot Resort! And the last time I paid this amount of money for a dinner, the restaurant had a Michelin star. |I don't know about the rest of Switzerland, it seems it's very expensive. We were passing through and needed a place for the night. It was a very good experience but my wallet...

Read moreI have been in Switzerland as a student and later as a tourist countless times. This restaurant was my worst ever experience in Switzerland. I walked in to the restaurant and wait for the waiters to offer me a place. None of them looked at me. Finally I approached the cashier and asked her I need a place for two adults and two children. She was polite and told me to ask the man who was organizing(looks like the manager). He told me to stay away. Then I wait another five minutes hoping any of the other waitresses to offer me. No way they told me to go away. I was so disappointed. I wanted to prove that it was out of pure racism. Then I went out and I told my wife to try (she is white). She went in and just one second later two waitress came and offer her a place. My wife said we shouldn’t eat here but I said no. Because that is what racist ppl want to achieve: push minorities away from any service. We got our food much later than we expected. The food was ok and the place was beautiful. But their smiles are only for white ppl. Very sad. 😞
I have never been treated like that in my entire 7 years life in Germany!
Edit: Few days have passed since the incident but I still feel the distress they...
