Gasthaus Hirschen — Restaurant in Berlingen

I live in the USA, and I come to the region of Untersee often. Hirschen is by far my favorite restaurant on the lake. Their cordon-bleu is the best you find anywhere - they have their own butcher shop and the meat is delicious. Same goes for the salads and all the other side dishes, and their selection of local wines is extensive and very very good. The setting is marvelous. There is a wonderful garden under a gigantic tree right by the lakeshore, and their indoor space is a charming room with low ceiling and a cosy atmosphere. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgable, and the owner of the restaurant, who seems to be ever-present, speaks excellent English and one can have interesting and insightful conversation with him. Overall, this is a great restaurant, and I'll keep returning...

Der erste Eindruck zählt. Keine Regel ohne Ausnahme. Auf dem ersten Blick schien das Ambiente bescheiden. Auch die Speisekarte ist etwas bünzlihaft. Ich habe Kalbs-Cordon-bleu als bestellt. Und frech gefragt, ob das auch als Fitnessneller möglich ist. Selbstverständlich. Und es kam ein exzellentes Cordon-bleu mit vielen feinen und frischen Salaten auf den Tisch. Ein Gaumenschmaus mit sehr fairen Preisen. Auch die Weine aus Berlingen schmecken vorzüglich. Eine Flasche zu 35 Fr. Auch der Rotwein aus Berlingen war sehr gut.
