This restaurant is situated at the foot of the trail taking you uphill through the Durnand canyon. It's also here you purchase the entrance ticket for your hike. There needs to be a lot of water in the river to excite you, so avoid the dry season or come after a major thunderstorm. And avoid the week-ends, preferably taking this hike in the morning or late afternoon just before closure on a week-day. When you get to the top of the trail you can walk down the road back to where you parked your car but this is a rather long and uninteresting walk, so I always prefer to hike back down through the canyon, which will make you discover other perspectives than when hiking uphill.
