We had a lovely experience at a this cozy Swiss restaurant overlooking the stunning Brienz Lake. The view alone is worth the visit: calm waters framed by majestic mountains, creating a serene and picturesque backdrop for a meal. It seems to be a family-owned place, and that warmth really comes through in the service. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We ordered the raclette, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, comforting, and served with all the traditional accompaniments. It’s clear they take pride in their food and presentation. One thing to note: the kitchen closes quite early, at 8 PM, so it’s best to plan ahead if you’re hoping for a late dinner. Prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the location. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with great food, kind service, and unbeatable views. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the...
Read moreThis is a nice restaurant almost at the top of the Axalp alpine. After a winding and narrow road up from the base at lake Brienz we came to this restaurant with a small parking lot (there is another smaller lot at the other side of the road). The popular sitting area like a greenhouse where views are nice with the large size windows are typically full or booked. We chose a table inside but next to the windows so we can still see the lake. View is breathtaking! The waitress (liked her tattoos!) spoke excellent English and we have no problem with ordering. Food is typical swiss and are good (this time forgotten to snap pictures as we were hungry!), we had the rosti with egg, rosti and sausages, beef fillet with potatoes (wished the beef was more medium rare) and local beer which was a good match. I recommend if you are in Brienz come up...
Read moreThe food was ok, it's not my type of taste. The pracę looks very good, and the view from the restauracja is mind-blowing. They need to pay more attention to who they hire. We had 2 waitresses. The first one (middle-aged) was perfect. Came with a smile, asked if everything was alright, etc. All good, no complaints. The second one (maybe 19-20) was behaving like she was there for punishment. Very rude and arogant. When we asked to change places (we were sitting outside, and it got a bit cold), she complained that she'll have to clean twice. Is it not your job? With this attitude, she should be on the back cleaning dishes, not being allowed in front of customers. We planned to stay longer, but after this treatment, we finished our dishes and left the place. Everything was good, up to the point when the second waitress...
