Dropped by for lunch. After alighting at Intragna train station, follow the GPS and walk a bit down, you should see the white sign board, simply follow that sign to the restaurant. Great outdoor atmosphere with greenery and good shades. Enjoyed my gnocchi and pork with risotto. The espresso is superb to end the meal. Service is also great.

Very good food, top polenta with porcini, good house wine. The baby had his high chair and loved his polenta with luganiga :) Top specialty, unexpectedly, was the coffee. They have a wood burning coffee beans toaster and they roast coffees imported from Brasil, Peru, Colombia and more countries!!! Top spot, totally recommend.

Charming and hidden Grotto surrounded by a beautiful nature! Very friendly and nice. We ordered a tagliatelle with mushrooms and a salad with a goat cheese, walnuts and a raspberry dressing - very good! Tiramisu was good, but slightly too liquid. There are parking spots near the restaurant.

We ate here for lunch last Saturday coming from Foroglio to Morcote. We didn’t have a reservation, but there was one table left. The rest of the tables were occupied by a rotary club having an event. The server told us they only had a limited menu, so we each had mixed salads and the risotto with sausage and grilled vegetables. The salad was very good, but two people could have shared one. The porcini risotto was absolutely delicious, the vegetables tasted like they were marinated in vinegar but still held firm and weren’t mushy, and the sausage was amazing as well. We then split a tiramisu at the end, and it was the best tiramisu I ever had. We were there after the restaurant technically closed, but they didn’t rush us at all and let us enjoy ourselves.

The courtyard is so cute and surrounded with grapevines. The interior is also very interesting and very unique. If in the area, you must come here.

Thank you for the amazing meal...

We had eaten at Grotto Maggini before. Three days ago my wife and myself ordered tagliatelle as the lunch menu. I can not remember eaten worse tagliatelle ever. Already when the owner served the plate, what was supposed to be tagliatelle resembled rather a pile of "brown mousse". They were totally overcooked and definitely not fresh. The owner was fully aware of what he dished up, then asked if we wanted fresh tagliatelle...I refused: I did come as guest not to serve as guinea pig and to spend an afternoon. In a Grotto Ticinese I expect that they can make a decent tagliatelle pasta. And I do know what fine tagliatelle taste like! If the owner is convinced of what he serves he would present it accordingly. It would have been onyl correct if the owner would have forfait the cost of 44 CHF for the tagliatelle, that caused us both feeling sick for almost two days. I recommend to stay away...
