Hotel Ristorante al Lago — Restaurant in Circolo della Verzasca

A great place to stay overnight, have breakfast, coffee and dinner. The view over the terrace is amazing (see photo). The food is good especially considering the prices. We had Lasagne, pizza and the James Bond cordon bleu. A young waitress was serving us and she was very kind and considered without being too pushy. All our wishes were fulfilled even though it was not always easy for her, since our Italian is not very good but she always understood what we were looking for. The breakfast is simple, some fresh bread, fresh cheese and ham with fresh coffee and tea. There was orange juice and some packed jam and butter. Again considering the prices it was fine.

There was only a minor complaint. The older waitress serving us during the breakfast seemed to be a bit moody and was not as considered as the nice young waitress. The young waitress even helped us to clean our dishes which we used during our picnic when we were hiking.

The rooms are small but sufficient. The beds were made and the room was clean.

First impression was a bit dull. Location is great but the hotel itself lacks in fancy. But(!!) It's amazing what good service, nice food and friendly staff can do. The owners are amazing, honestly attentive and helpful. Breakfast was the usual choice of meats and sweets but the bread and croissant was always freshly baked and the charcuterie and cheese where definitely above average. They have a nice menu for lunch and dinner with pizza, pasta and some Tessiner-specialties like osso bucco and saltimbocca. All done nicely and for a fair price. The location is connected via bus to all the nice places around. I would still recommend a car though, it's fairly off. If you have a dog, there is an ok hike starting from across the street but nothing to get the pup out and running really. If you have a kid, ask for a quiet room cause some of the rooms do get quite a bit of kitchen noise even in the later hours. It's a nice place mainly for it's excellent service and nice view but I would stay there...

It is a nice location overlooking the lake. Free parking was good. Room was clean but basic. Pizza at the restaurant was great. The staff was helpful but very busy. Did not have breakfast.||I had a room facing the road and it was noisy with passing traffic. Some cars seem to drive really fast and so noisy, in spite of narrow roads.|The room had a small wicker table and a chair besides the bed. It would be good if they could do away with these and instead install a table top for more surfaces. The wicker isn’t exactly the most flat and stable surface. The bathroom had hand towel rails that dangle either too close to the wc on one side or the trash bin on the other.
