Wow, don't know where to begin. We were forced to find a hotel soon, as it was about 7 pm and not too many hotels were in that area. It had a decent looking restaurant on the ground floor so, although the pricing was very high for something like this (130 euro for a room), we did not have much choice and unfortunately for us, took the room before SEEING IT. Will never do THAT again.||||Had to handle booking of the room in an alcove of the restaurant, in between the waitress (owner?) waiting on tables. We had another couple driving with us so we needed 2 rooms. One had a large bed and our room had THREE twin beds (all they had left). All of the rooms smelled stale and moldy and the linens were from about 1935 (or so they seemed). Have never ever seen such barren, barrack-like rooms EVER. The towels in the bathroom were like cardboard (fabric softener apparently never heard of - these were hung on a line to dry stiff). There was one tiny 'painting' hung about 2 feet from the ceiling.... that was the 'decor', in addition to marks and scratches on walls, some mold in the shower and a tacky plastic cup in the bathroom (which cup had never seen the inside of a dishwasher). The table and chair in the room were falling apart. The TV was on a kitchen butcher-block-like 'stand'. The 3 twin beds were like kids' summer camp style. ||||What made this place really suck was the horrifically miserably unpleasant and unsmiling woman 'serving' us. After a somewhat fleetingly friendly approach as we were booking the rooms, she went Jekyll and Hyde and transformed into a demeanor of "don't bother me, you're in the way of our local customers". Her son (?) or some young guy who waited on us in the restaurant was nice enough but had absolutely no serving experience. We just sat and waited and waited for everything for a very long time. Slow is one thing but this was just unacceptable.||||Anyway, if you are driving in this area and cannot find something decent, just sleep in your car. You'll be glad you did, instead of...

Read moreawful place, our room was fairly clean but had the feel of a youth detention centre. the staff seemed to go out of thier way to be unhelpful, not speaking either French or English. Practically raised their eyes heavenward if you dared approach them. the fridge in the room was unusuable as it blow the fuse of the room, a member of staff then got quite irritated that we'd tried to plug it in. Why have it in the room then?! ||the room was unbearably hot; it was a large 4 bed room and we asked for a fan. they provided a desk fan a few inches in diameter; totally useless. when i asked for another one, we were told no way, one per room only, again very irritated to be asked. we couldnot open the windows as our room overlooked the pizzeria so the guests' cigerette smoke wafted over the beds where our two young children were sleeping. To be fair, it was a reasonable location, although currently overlooking a building site, but the staff were just totaly unhelpful and it was like sleeping in a hot box. would definately not recommend it. breakfast was very basic. could not wait to leave. not relaxing or in any way a...
