As a chef, I can say that dining at Ristorante Vetta, perched atop Monte San Salvatore, is an experience that goes far beyond taste it’s a true feast for the senses. The view is simply breathtaking. Overlooking Lake Lugano with majestic mountains framing the horizon, it’s a scene that makes every bite even more delightful. I chose the lasagna, which was beautifully simple yet masterfully prepared. Delicate pasta, a rich sauce, perfectly layered and finished with a golden, bubbling top all crafted with fresh ingredients and deep respect for tradition. The perfect dish to enjoy alongside such a stunning view. The atmosphere is unpretentious but warm and inviting, allowing the focus to remain where it should be: on the table and the landscape. The staff was exceptionally kind and attentive, adding a special touch to the whole experience. We came here to have dinner with a sunset, unfortunately didn't get the perfect sunset, but of where we were for dinner with the spectacular views was more than enough. The staff spoke very good english and very helpful, the restaurant closes at 22.30, If you dine in the evening there is a reduced funicular return ticket at 12chf each with the last return at 23.00 (but check timings).
