Travelling from the Netherlands to Italy we wanted to stop just after we passed the Gotthard tunnel. We drove into Quinto to look for an hotel and restaurant for the night. Friendly locals pointed us to hotel/restaurant La Campagnolo. We arrived but the hotel was full and the food smelled great. The owner said he knew a Bed & Breakfest where we couild spend the night and have dinner and breakfast at his hotel. We were brought to a big house where a friendly elderly lady lived. She had five rooms of which we took 2. After we put our stuff in the rooms we went back to the hotel where the kids had some great pizza's and we took the steaks, one beef and one deer, served on a Plancharde http://www.laplancharde.ch, a sizzling hot stone in a metal tray on a wood plank for the rest of the dinner. OMG what was the meat tender and moist. After the dinner we went back to out sleeping place and the next morning we said goodbye to the nice lady and had our breakfast at the hotel after which we travelled to Italy. ||||This is a great place to stay and eat when...

Read moreThe hotel is in a great location, with astonishing views of the mountains and perfect for accessing the Furka Pass. The hotel is on the second floor with a number of rooms that are just like small wooden cabins. Rooms are pretty small but decent enough and have a good little electric heater and a small sink. The showers are pretty basic and need refurbishing (both showers had doors broken) but overall it's decent and perfectly nice. ||The restaurant was great, it was really busy despite being so remote and there was a good selection on the menu, with some simple, fairly cheap options (around CHF15/16) and more extravagant options (like bison) for upwards of €25. The staff spoke a little English and decent French but without Italian it was quite tricky to check out in the morning with just an older lady available to serve! All in all it was a great place to stay and at a relatively decent price given...
