To tell it upfront: if you have a choice, stay in Lugano itself. Lamone is a drab, cheerless suburb, and this hotel has a few quirks thar make staying there less than a pleasure. For one, guests are locked in at night (in our case, until 8 o'clock or so on a Sunday morning) and can only get out of the building through the upstairs backdoor - that is, if somebody informed them of this beforehand. And secondly, their phone can ring for quite a while without anybody answering. We stayed for a night. The patron was friendly, room is ok and clean. There is breakfast in the morning with croissants, bread and a basket 🧺 of fruit 🍎. We take it that most guests only stay for a night. We were a bit surprised, when we had breakfast at eight in the morning and were asked whether we would leave in 15 or 30 minutes. Felt a bit like being thrown out.

It may not look like much from the street, but wow, what a great place to eat with comfortable rooms to spend the night. Our family stayed here one night while hiking in the Lugano region, and the warm, friendly staff, amazing food, and comfortable rooms left us refreshed and satisfied....
