Well...well...I’ve seen many inconsistent statements below, which makes me feel we were at the different place. We have been served by a very professional gentleman - Tristan who even provided us a service at the table whole night long. Nice, young gentleman full of humor. Place itself is very clean, terrace is fully refurbished. Actually, it is one of the rarest place located at the lake in Geneva which has everything together: location, service, cleanliness and food. This is why I am saying that the reviews I’ve read before are a bit inconsistent. Someone had said that food is horrible. I think this type of comments has to be banned by google. You can’t state that. We were 2 couples and had fish and meat, but all of us admitted that food was delicious. I personally had a beef steak which was very tasty. I’ve asked it well done, however Tristan advised me to have it medium- well done ( a point ) and it was as I wanted. It is very rare in Geneva and surroundings where they can make 250 grammes of beef steak as you have asked and even better then you could have imagined. My husband and our friend had filet de perché and admitted that home made sauce was very thin, light and better than at any lakeside restaurant in Geneva. I go back to Tristan, who provided us an excellent service whole night long. I have had an impression to be somewhere in Moscow, Dubai or Sardinia restaurants where service is THE SERVICE. Voilà des années que nous venons à La Bellotte, le cadre est superbe et le service toujours à la fois très agréable, efficace, souriant; et une fois encore merci aux deux personnes qui se sont occupées de nous au service aujourd’hui.

Merci également à votre équipe en cuisine.

Les deux bars étaient excellents, les filets de perche d’Estonie étaient bons, le wok végétarien avec supplément poulet bon également et copieux, le wok que j’avais demandé pour ma conjointe qui est végane, sans nouilles et en proposant de payer un supplément pour qu’il soit tout de même copieux était malheureusement léger et surtout il manquait les shitakés, ingrédient qui aurait dû être le cœur de ce wok et qui ne comportait aucun champignon en remplacement (il nous a été précisé que les shitakes n’avaient pas été reçus et il aurait été appréciable que la cuisine en informe le reste de l’équipe).

Deux vraies déceptions cependant:

La salade César commandée par ma mère qu’elle n’a quasiment pas touchée et lorsqu’elle m’a passé son assiette j’ai compris pourquoi: vraiment pas de goût, une salade absolument pas croquante mais surtout des feuilles de salades flétries, si elle m’avait montré son assiette avant que tous nous ayons fini nos plats j’aurais demandé à ce qu’on lui propose autre chose.

Deuxième grande déception le peu de flexibilité en cuisine: voyant passer une assiette avec du melon, je demande pour notre fille de 18 mois s’il est possible d’avoir une assiette de melon en précisant que le prix ne m’importe pas, la serveuse me répond qu’elle va vérifier en cuisine mais qu’étant donné que c’est un accompagnement elle ne pense pas que cela soit possible, et ma fille n’aura effectivement pas eu d’assiette de melon.

Je fais la même demande, pour une assiette de tomates cerises peu importe le prix toujours et seconde réponse négative, je commande donc une salade qui comporte aussi des tomates cerises, pas plus de chance avec le dessert, je demande pour ma compagne, végane donc, s’il est possible d’avoir des fruits, une fois encore réponse négative alors que les fraises font parties d’un dessert.

Alors comme je connais très très très très bien votre métier et je reste à votre disposition pour vous en expliquer les détails si vous le souhaitez, si la terrasse avait été pleine, le restaurant occupé j’aurais compris que la cuisine ne puisse satisfaire des demandes sorties des automatismes, mais étant donné qu’au moment de notre prise de commande (arrivée 12h30), une table de 4 prenait l’addition et qu’il ne restait à ce moment là que deux tables de deux en dehors de nous, une dernière table de deux s’étant ajoutée une heure après notre arrivée, il m’est difficile de comprendre que la cuisine n’ai pu préparer une assiette de melon, une petite assiette de tomates cerises et proposer des fraises nature.

Ce qui en l’occurrence a rendu notre repas agréable en dehors du cadre et du temps et du fait que nous fêtions un anniversaire c’est vraiment le service.

Nous reviendrons lorsque la carte aura changé en espérant une plus grande flexibilité côté cuisine dont nous nous assurerons avant...

I NEVER write bad reviews but was so disappointed. Sadly the standard of food and the environment has drastically reduced. We lived in Geneva for 10 years and had not been back since the mid 2000's. We took our teen/adult children back to show them the wonderful restaurant we had very fond memories of and had raved about, disappointingly The food quality and outdoor dining area has diminished greatly. We were a party of 10 people. There were weeds everywhere and it looked scruffy and the food, presentation and filet de perche which we specifically went for was sub par. On top pf that prices are high for the lack of quality and ambience. The nice touch was the hats. Unless they clean up their act we won't be coming back. This is sad because we would like to come back and had so many special memories there in the 90's and...

Très bel endroit avec une belle vue sur la rade de Genève et le Jura. J'ai trouvé les filets perches peut-être un peu trop sec mais très bons tout de même. Le garçon qui nous a servi nous signalé que les filets de perches ne venaient pas du lac, ce qui est très honnête. Je connais d'autres restaurants qui nous aurait vendu des filets de perche étrangers au prix du lac. Par contre j'ai été très déçu de l'emplacement. J'ai réservé plusieurs jours à l'avance pour être sûr d'avoir une place au bord de la terrasse avec la vue sur le lac, vu que j'allais avec une personne qui ne connaissait pas l'endroit. Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, toutes les places en bord de terrasse étaient occupées et certainement pas par des gens qui avaient réservés, vu que je l'avais fait 3 jours auparavant. On s'est retrouvé vers la porte d'entrée du restaurant avec aucune vue. Rien que pour ça je n'y retournerai pas. Je n'aime pas que l'on traite les clients de cette façon.

Returned to la Belotte after a +25yrs break, and we enjoyed a great table facing the front lake, good food and attentive service. A nice walk helped with digestion. NB: As my shrimp dish was huge they graciously arranged for a doggy bag - which my husband and I enjoyed the following day as 2 small starters!

Returned to la Belotte after a +25yrs break, and we enjoyed a great table facing the front lake, good food and attentive service. A nice walk helped with digestion. NB: As my shrimp dish was huge they graciously arranged for a doggy bag - which my husband and I enjoyed the following day as 2 small starters!
