Embarrassing. Du Glacier gets a 1 star because of the complete lack of customer service, the manager in particular showed a complete lack of management.
My friend was gluten free and there were zero gluten free options available at dinner with little to no attempt to find something that would be suitable. He had to leave the restaurant and go somewhere else after asking if there was anyway any of the meals either contained gluten or could be made gluten free. I don’t think it’s a massive ask. It’s embarrassing. It didn’t say anywhere when booking that there were no options at all however we were told we had to request this in advance, so it was our fault not theirs. Slightly backwards 😂.
Zero accountability and a couldn’t care less attitude. We’d spent the whole day travelling too as most who visit here do.
The manager who I asked to speak to was rude and after I had dinner by myself I said I refused to pay for the drink my friend had drunk whilst he attempted to troubleshoot his way through ordering some grub. I get it, he’d drunk it but it was a poor display from them no acknowledgment that they had done very little - a bad experience and the ask from me, tiny. No attempt to try and make a bad situation any better, in fact, he made it worse. Oh, and a bottle of unsealed tap water which is apparently ‘mineral water’ cost 10 CHF. Must have gold in it.
The waitress said to me that if I didn’t pay it would come out her pay cheque. Quite a worrying comment in itself, if true.
They couldn’t care about your experience so I would avoid this place. I’ve read a number of reviews and the responses quite literally confirm my experience. Whoever ‘manages’ their online reputation is a bit of a keyboard warrior it seems.
No idea how they have such strong reviews. The rooms are traditional but...
Read moreWe (2ppl.) had dinner here yesterday. We went because of all the good reviews and were quite disappointed because of a number of reasons.
First, we waited a long time to get the menu, to order and get the food (that can happen it was a Friday evening). Second, we got the wrong main course, the wine was forgotten and there was no salad sauce on the salad. Third, the pizza and bruschetta were quite burned. Also, the burger and the pizza really weren't good quality and therefore don't justify the price tag in our eyes.
The staff seemed very overwhelmed and uncoordinated and didn't understand German or English. For the prices in this restaurant I would expect one or two of the above mentioned points to happen but not all of them. Also, just little things like bread and butter on the table or bread with the Burrata starter were missing. Neighbouring tables also complained about long waiting times and forgotten food.
Still, I felt the staff tried their best and the atmosphere in the restaurant...
Read moreIt was amazing weekend. The hotel with history and a lot of important details that new owners saved with respect.
You could see that the hotel is in the process of renovation, it has amazing spa place, and soon there will be beer brewery, but it didn’t ruin the comfort. Just in few min from lift to the slopes. With gorgeous view on the mountains.
There are some tiny issues like old floor but even this add the atmosphere to this place. It feels like you are coming to the cozy grandma hotel in Alps but with good wifi, new tech spa and vegan options in restaurant.
Staff was amazing, smiling, welcoming, and speak perfect English.
I Will definitely come back.
Thanks to Sandro for inspiration and such a...
