Räbalp — Restaurant in Greppen

This could be my new fave restaurant! Very cosy, attentive child-friendly staff made us feel at home. Simple, fresh, local traditional Swiss food. Good vegetarian options too. We caught the gondola up from Kussnacht to Seebodenalp, did the ball runs with the kids along the panoramic ridgeline, up the hill to the restaurant at the end, then back along the same path. Took the gondola up at 0930 then back down at 1400, that was taking it very easy with four kids. Oh and foraged for wild strawberries on the side of the path along the way, especially on the hill bend between the two...

What a gem of an "Alpwirtschaft" restaurant! (Totally worth the slightly steep hike up to it from the main path. From the cable car exit along the easy ridge route with magnificent views, about an hour plus at the most.)

I sat along the side of the restaurant, overlooking the valley and had an excellent meal, with a delicious local valley meat "Spiess" and sumptuous salad. The service staff were attentive and friendly and the hour plus I spent quietly enjoying the meal was...
