You’d think after two years of pandemic there’d be some easy system in place to scan folks into the restaurant. Almost impossible to get a table inside between 12:30-13:30, you have to stand and wait where you think someone ‘might’ leave soon. After that, you get to go stand in a 25 minutes line up for your self-service food which is not self-served if you want hot, cooked food. Today one person was serving the line up that wrapped around the cash registers and interfered with the scan-in and the main entrance/exit to the place. It was the single most disorganized event I’ve ever witnessed. Ya, it was busy, but ya, they could have done better…for 6 chicken nuggets and fries 18.50 and a naked bratwurst, 9 fr. I demand better. Pack a lunch, save yourself the trouble.
Edit: this review is all about the self-service section, not the sit down restaurant and I should mention, all staff interactions were positive.
2nd Edit: In considering the response from the business and a subsequent pleasant visit to the business, I’ve upgraded the star review...
Read moreTable service restaurant review: We had a lovely meal from the table service area in the ground floor. We ordered the mountain pasta with sausage and a crispy chicken burger. All were delicious. The fries in particular were very good and seasoned and tossed with a little bit of Knorr Aromat flavouring so had the added bit of depth of flavour. In essence a bit of chicken powder (bit similar to chicken stock).
The coleslaw and chicken burger were yummy too. The service was efficient and friendly.
We came back twice and sat upstairs and the self service food was not as nice understandably. For example the fries are the same but might have sat there a little under the hot plate lights so might have dried out and be a little crunchy. So it’s pot luck based on timing but that’s self service and a lot cheaper.
Views over the ski area and to the glacier mountain is beautiful. It’s a lovey building. It can get a little canteen like with its big dining hall feel. I would come...
Read moreReally nice place to relax and refresh for lunch during a day on the slopes. Super busy when we went (about 1230), two options for food - quick eats where you seat yourself or table service with full menu. Seat yourself is only available outside, no outside table service. Inside table service seating is also more limited. We did table service, our server was phenomenal, even after we ordered the wrong size and type of water he quickly corrected it. Food was really good, I got the smoked salmon, hubby got the burger. The burger wasn't as good as he hoped which is why rating 4 stars for food, as Americans we are used to more if a ground meat burger and this was tough almost like a steak. Prices are high, but you are getting table service at a ski resort type location that you can really only access by train - you pay for exclusivity. Bathrooms are down stairs and don't have that many stalls for how big the place is - may need to...
