We loved this hotel! The room and bed were very comfortable. View from the balcony was great. Breakfast and espresso were excellent! There was a girl working there the first morning who helped get me oat milk steamed for my espresso to have a cappuccino and it was delicious! They do have lattes and steamed milk in the machine (regular milk) during breakfast, but I wanted non-dairy milk so it was nice of her to help! ||We were a little worried about the AC after reading a couple reviews but the AC worked well! It kept the room cool. We are from the US and spoiled with our ac so this was important to us being there in August. |Bed was very comfortable as mentioned, we slept great. Great blackout curtains. Bathroom had plenty of space compared to the two other hotels in Switzerland where we stayed, which I loved for getting ready. |12 minute walk from the train station, easily walkable if you’re pretty active. ||Regarding the steep hill mentioned in other reviews, please understand this is a very steep hill and would be difficult with luggage (especially bigger luggage). I am attaching a couple pictures of it. Do yourself a huge favor and just get a taxi to and from the Lucerne train station when you have luggage instead of taking the train or bus. It would be around CHF 35-40 one way I think. The hotel front desk staff will help you schedule it, just ask them a day before you leave. Also, fyi we saw lots of taxis sitting outside the front of the Lucerne train station. ||Thank God there was a sweet older couple at the bottom of the stairs pictured when we got there with our luggage, they offered to drive us up to the top in their car and we took them up on it. | For reference my husband and I are in our 30s, we both workout a few times/week and walk every day. |From the bottom of that hill in the pic, you are about halfway through the said 12 minute walk from the train station. So that is the last leg of it.. the last 6-7 minutes of it is up the steep hill (not all of it pictured). ||If I could do it all again we would still 100% stay here if we were in the Lucerne area. We would just make sure to take the taxi to and from the hotel with our big luggage! We had one larger one and one carry-on side. |I just want people to know, so they don’t review Roggerli poorly because it’s a bit harder to access than most hotels I’ve stayed in. If you like walking and are in fairly good shape, you’ll be good. :) |The last 2 pics were taken on our balcony. ||Also, we got in kind of late the first night and didn’t want to go all the way to Lucerne so we walked down close to the shore (about 12 min walk) and ate at an Italian restaurant called Nabucco. We called them about 45 min before and made a reservation on a Tues night but it wasn’t too busy anyway. It was reasonably priced...

🛌 While the rooms may be slightly dated, they are well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. They are on the smaller side, but still cozy.
😋 The breakfast was delightful, featuring a delectable selection of cheeses, pastries, cereals, eggs, fruits and vegetables. Moreover, on the top floor, the hotel provides complimentary coffee, tea, and water, and a pleasant and relaxing seating area that are accessible at all times.
🅿️ The hotel offers free parking, relieving you of any parking-related worries. I recommend leaving your car at the hotel, and within a 10-minute walk, you can reach Hergswil train station through a hidden pathway at the side of the hotel. From there, you have the option to purchase very affordable tickets on spot and catch a train to Lucerne. Just note that the train ticket shop closes on weekends, so it's best to buy tickets on weekdays. Keep in mind that the walk back to the hotel is uphill. This might not be the best option for everyone.

Read morePretty good hotel. The restaurant has an amazing view of the lake so the included breakfast, although quite lacking options was still enjoyable as it could be eaten outside to take in the view. Our room also had an air conditioner (which came in handy as it was quite hot in the area during our stay) and a smart TV, it was nice being able to log into Netflix and watch some tv for a little while before bed. Only gave 4 stars because it was a little busy and didn't really have the feel of a small hotel, more of an impersonal chain, and the breakfast options were a little lacking. Otherwise a good place to stay, the Hergiswil Bahnhof is about a 15-20 min walk (very steep hill to walk however) and Hergiswil is a little less busy than Lucerne but still has amazing views...
