Charming, old fashioned and cosy venue with incredibly warm welcome by genuinely friendly staff. The lady attending my table spoke as much English as I spoke French yet managed to make my evening lovely and comfortable 🤗 From beginning to the end I felt like home where food is truly delicious. Older gentleman ( guest of the restaurant) having coffee at the table outside after finished dinner, rushed to recommend in French I should have fillet the perche and creme brulé for desert…as they are devine. After by clearly a regular guest I simply had to comply.. adding the pot of Moules Marinières as a starter. All dishes were delicious and soo fresh!👌🏻I can’t wait to visit them again ( today! On my last day in Lutry) If you love quality and clean classic flavours this place is a must! No fuss, no unnecessary circus on the plate.. fresh delicious fish and most perfect creme brulé I ever had. I don’t understand how such simple beautiful dish is being butchered by so many other places. 🤷🏻♀️ Great place in...
Read moreUnprofessional service from beginning to end. I have been here several times. Food is good, but not outstanding either. This time, maybe it was sexism (or homophobia), but the waiter pulled a face when we ordered, then barely serving our table. When I tried to order the féra, I was told it was not “fished” this season (so why is it on the menu?) and the only other fish they had was perch. I accepted the suggestion but in a definite crook move, he did not asked me what portion size I wanted and just brought me the biggest, which was more expensive than the fera, and I discovered it only when I got the bill. When I asked advice about wine and the difference between 2 Calamins on the menu, he replied ‘the owner’. In the end, forget this place, the food is not worthy of this...
Read more⭐ – One of the worst experiences we’ve had in the region.
We live in Lausanne and came here expecting a nice afternoon with coffee and dessert. We were let in without warning, even though the restaurant was nearly empty (80% of tables were free) and there was no line.
After waiting 15 minutes the waiter came and told us, very directly, that we could not stay unless we ordered a full meal. It wasn’t a polite suggestion – we were kicked out.
Only after we had clearly been dismissed and humiliated, the waiter returned – still visibly annoyed – and said we could stay if we ate our dessert quickly.
His tone didn’t change. It remained cold, irritated, and unwelcoming. The whole experience was deeply disrespectful. We felt ashamed and like we were being scolded for something that wasn’t even unreasonable.
No clear rules, French-only menu, and absolutely no hospitality.
If you don’t want people coming in just for dessert, don’t call yourself a “Café.”
One star. We will never return, and we strongly advise others to avoid this place.
