HANS IM GLÜCK - BERN Gümligen — Restaurant in Muri bei Bern

Having booked to see Two films less than an hour apart at the blue cinema we needed to get something to eat in between. Before going in to the first film we asked if we could order some food in advance so we would have time to eat, the staff were so helpful and when we came out from the first film, sure enough they had everything freshly prepared just in time! The drinks were ready, and the food came out as soon as we sat down! The staff came and checked everything was up to scratch(which it was). They didnt hastle us at all and brought the bill so we could get to our next film with time to spare. When you visit you can ask for a menu in english if you are not feeling confident with your german!

The food: The burgers were delicious! The sweet potato fries are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle(perfect). (Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the food before I finished! It was just to tasty!)

The drinks: were really nice cold cocktails alcoholic (grünschnabel; Gin, lemon,fresh basil and sparkling water. see photo) and non alchoholic (elderflower, sugar syrup, lemon and ginger ale), both over ice. Thankyou to all the staff that made our cinema day run smoothly, we will see...

so to be brief: Quick service Tasty food Overpriced / small meals not useful design of the restaurant (no chance that your buddy will find you) multiple staffs will serve you

Good Things first: The food was tasty and we have been served quick. now to be more critical: The restaurant calls itself burger bar, so i just ordered a burger for about CHF 14 and expected a big burger, i got a tasty burger but the size was super small for the price, i left the restaurant being still hungry. Further the restaurant is a forest (no joke, there are trees everywhere) so the staff has absolutely no overview about we have been asked to order by 3 different staffs which was a little anoying (but better than been asked from no one). but seriously what is the idea from having such a confusing restaurant? design?? further if you read the critical reviews all you get from the management is "please fill out our online form" why should anyone do that? the reviews are mostly clear enough what the customers...

Evidently I am not the only customer who was unsatisfied with the service here. It is a pity - I was very excited to hear about a new Hans im Glück opening in Switzerland (I often visited the branch in Lübeck) but unfortunately the terrible customer service brought a bad taste to the whole dining atmosphere.

The restaurant is decorated nicely and the background music provides a nice ambience, the food is also delicious however my pleasant experience was ruined by the lack of friendly service.

When arriving at the restaurant we noticed that all the tables had a "reserved " sign on them - yet the restaurant was empty - and so we asked if we could sit anyway. The waitress looked at us as if we were stupid and said "of course - we are not full".

The waitress was probably having a bad day, judging by the way she kept huffing and puffing, sighing and not smiling.

I probably won't be coming back here and won't recommend this...
