This is an old hotel (but has been refurbished) dated back to 1661 located in the outskirts of the city center in a quiet neighbourhood. It's a family run property and before checking in, we have been warned not to boil water (there's no kettle in room) or wash clothes since the hot water vapour could trigger the fire alarm and a hefty fine would be imposed on us.||Putting that aside, our room was 313 (apparently 4th floor) and the hotel only have one lift with a spiral stairways. Imagine how long it would take for a tourgroup of 30! And the lift could only take 4 persons with luggage! ||Nonetheless, the room was spacious and huge! The biggest room we have stayed in this current trip. The room was nicely themed with beautiful wall decors and lights. The automatic window shade is a bonus, where you can roll up or down (automatically via switch) that offer a nice scenery view afar on greenery mountains and surrounding villages.||Beds were overall comfortable and the toilet was separated for bathing and WC. Although there's aircon, its not working and so we had to open our windows and only windy at night time. Room service was done appropriately.||However, there was no usb cable charging wall sockets! (so remember to bring you multi-plug adapter) And asking the reception if they have any, they said no without offering help. Luckily one of our tourmates got extra and lend to us.||Breakfast only start at 7am and if you go early, we will have to wait until that time. On the 2nd day, the opening was delayed by a good 15mins because the "bread was not ready yet" as quoted by the boss. The spread was rather limited and just so so in terms of taste.||There's a Spar supermarket opposite the hotel and a Micgros supermarket about 1km away with 1~2 pizza restaurants nearby. It's good for those who look forward to the "out of city" stay to enjoy mother nature and from the bustling activities in the city.||Would say it's ok to stay here but nothing to...

Read moreDisappointing Experience Due to Poor Service and below average food quality
I recently dined at Hirschen Overkirch AG and unfortunately encountered several issues that significantly impacted my experience.
Positives: Location is good and not very busy at Sunday Night.
However, there were some notable negatives:
The restaurant did not provide an English menu, making it challenging to understand the offerings. This led to confusion and difficulty in ordering. Waitress did not even provide full menu to us, only provided one page menu at begin, when we asked for more details, then they gave us another full menu. But both menu in Swiss Germany.
Customer service was disappointing. A waitress’ behavior felt disrespectful and unwelcoming, affecting the overall atmosphere. We ask waitresses three times politely, but been told “wait” and then ignored. Finally we get the tap water but the waitress let us feels we should not be there and unwelcome. And tap water also cost us CHF 7 without notice.
We also experienced difference in how locals and foreigners were treated. This double standard left me feeling uncomfortable and undervalued as a customer. I believe that every guest deserves equal respect and attention regardless of their background. I hope the management addresses these concerns to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all customers.
Food quality is below average as well....
